I have a Samsung Plasma TV, a Samsung BluRay player, an appleTV, and a direcTV cable box to attach to my Samsung Soundbar. We used to have a receiver and conventional surround sound, but it died, so we got the soundbar reduce the wires in our setup. Since the death of the receiver, everything has been attached to the TV via HDMI. What's the best way to connect it all to the soundbar for optimal sound?
Assuming you are talking about the HW-E450 soundbar, there is a master thread here for it. You'll find plenty of connection advice. Basically, since the soundbar has only one HDMI input, at least two of your source devices will need to be connected to the TV.
