I have a Panny LED E3 42" TV connected to a Panny 520 soundbar through the ARC connection. I really want to use headphones and tried a digital to analog converter through the optical connection on the back of the TV. Trouble is the soundbar is default with the ARC connection so nothing came through the DAC when I hooked it up. How can I override the soundbar to use a DAC as a headphone jack? I don't think that I tried shifting the audio setting from digital to component. The TV manual says that it for DVI audio. Will that work with a DAC as well? I returned the DAC, but would be happy to try again if I could get it to work. Thanks.
