I recently purchased a refurbished Samsung HW-E450 and I'm having issues with the subwoofer. I have the soundbar connected via an HDMI ARC to my Vizio TV. The soundbar is working great, but the subwoofer keeps losing sync. After about 5 minutes the subwoofer stops working and the red and blue light start flashing on the subwoofer. If I unplug the unit and then plug it back in it will work again, but after another few minutes the same thing happens.

Any suggestions?

How far away from the soundbar do you have the subwoofer?

It's right next to soundbar, less than a foot

Samsung HW-E450 Sub syncing issue

I recently noticed I didn't have any 'low end' and, I saw the power light (red) was lit yet the sound bar was on. I tried resetting the 'sync' of the sub and all that happens now is for the sync light keeps blinking. I've unplugged both the sub and the together, separately, individually with the same results. How the heck can I sync the sub again? NOTHNG is working to resolve the situation.

I think you have an excellent case for returning your refurbished purchase. The odds are in your favor that if the sub will not synch in your home, they will also not synch from your place of purchase.


Sometimes (most of the time), refurbished only means returned. Possibly this unit was returned by the first purchaser due to the fact that they also could not get the sub-woofer to synch consistently or stay synched.


Don't leave yourself frustrated and continue to fight a losing battle needlessly.
