I've just install a new Sony 70" R550A LED TV in my living room.
I need to buy a soundbar to get a theater sound atmosphere when watching HD Movies.

I narrow my choice to Sony HT-CT660 or Philips Fidelio HTL9100/12

Sony HT-CT660 : It is the same Sony, matching nicely and this latest model has good reviews too.

Philips Fidelio HTL9100/12 : Latest breakthrough product from Philips, I like the idea of having 2 detachable wireless surround speaker run on rechargeable battery. This Philips will give a true 5.1 surround sound.

To be honest, I have not hear or compare the sound quality of those two Soundbars.
My preference is purely base on browsing on internet (specs, reviews etc.).

Can someone give me the recommendation base on real experience about those two Soundbars.

THANKS

The Sony is a no-brainer because it fits perfectly with your HDTV and any Sony Blu-Ray player you might have, plus it offers lossless audio decoding, which I'm sure the Philips does not. The Sony also has significantly higher output than the Philips does while costing much less. The Philips is over-priced and the wireless surround speakers are pitiful at best.

I am very interested for Sony because of integrated combination.
But what most attracts me about Philips is the rechargeable detachable Surround Sound Speakers which will provide the true 5.1 surround, when other 2.1 soundbars are not able to deliver.
By the way Philips make many good Fidelio Smartphone sounddocks and well reviewed.

Any other opinion, please.

I've been waiting for some mainstream reviews of the Philips, as the design is interesting.

Vizio will also have a larger 5.1 soundbar (54") coming out soon.

Check this out, Taichi:

http://www.testberichte.de/p/philips-tests/htl9100-testbericht.html

it is in German, but you can google-translate it.
The reviews are comprehensive and detail.
All 5 reviews give full 5 stars.

Are we in tune now?
