I am closing on a house and fortunately that means I get to go shopping for new everything. Given that I have to stretch my budget initially for basic HT and music so I am considering the following options and would like feedback on whether I am off my rocker or not.

First a few notes:
1. I am not looking for full blown HT just a good 2.1 or 3.1 system
2. The big system I have my eye on will have to wait until budget allows around $6k.
3. my budget in the meantime is around $700-$1500 max. Any money I save I get to add to the TV budget.

Option 1. Was thinking of getting he Peach DeepBlue. I listened to this and was very impressed for what it is. Obviously you can't use that for the TV so I was thinking about a cheaper sound bar which I have several options but one in particular led me to the next option.

Option2. Ditch the DeepBlue for the Sonos playbar and pair that with the Sonos Sub and use that for both the tv and audio. It's semi portable(kinda)?

The Deep Blue is an awesome product however I was impressed by the Sonos as well but haven't heard it when paired with the sub which I hear is awesome. I am open to other ideas as well.

Thanks

What is it you are not liking about the Playbar? I am considering getting one for my small living room set-up and would appreciate your opinions.

Thanks!

I'd look around, I did boost the bass all the way it does sound better, but a cheap receiver and speakers sound better

Wait another 30 days and test Pioneer's speaker bar. It certainly has the right credentials at a reasonable price for an extremely good sound system.

Got ya, thank you. I've listened to the Playbar in stores and agree that it's lacking a bit on the low end. I would like to hear one with the subwoofer paired up, but I have yet to find a store with the sub on display.
