I am looking for a sound bar for my bedroom Pioneer 500m. I want the sound bar to replace my receiver so I need one that has HDMI IN and HDMI OUT as the Pioneer does not have Optical Out and neither does the Roku that will be hooked up to the TV

I prefer a sound bar without a subwoofer or where the HDMI inputs are on the actual sound bar, if possible

Pioneer KRP-500m
Panasonic 65VT50
M&K LCR-750s Fronts and Center
M&K M-4T Surrounds
X-Rite i1pro

What dollar amount qualifies as budget to you?

Well, lets say $100-$400. My budgets are typically wide as I always want to buy what is the best value for what I am trying to achieve.

I have the Samsung HW-F450 on order right now. From what I read and could see, it appears the hdmi connections are on the back of the sound bar which is definitely a requirement for me

I'm in the same boat. I have a PS3, Xbox, and Cable and my TV only has 2 HDMI in's...I was thinking of getting the andrew jones soundbar for $399 but its only on optical out...

Should I get a receiver (with HDMIx4 in and out x1) or should I get a switch?

Was thinking of just getting hte Andrew Jones book shelf speakers and using that w/ a reciever...but i'd like to spend ~$300...

Sound is important...but I am deaf in my left ear so I only hear in MONO so surround sound does absolutely nothing for me, though i would like better sound than the crappy speakers on the tv.

Thanks for the advice.

thinking of just getting this switch "pigtail" for $15

Yamaha YHT-S401 - 3 HDMI in, 1 out. $400. If you like a sub woofer. Too bad you want HDMI. The Yamaha YSp-1400 has built in sub-woofers inside the sound bar. Optical/digital in only, though.

But I'm also looking at the YSP-2200 for under $800.

thanks!

the more I'm thinking about it, the more I think i will just get a switch and the Andrew Jones soundbar...that receiver seems like a pretty killer deal though.
