So I have been looking for a setup for the family room, fairly large room 20X19. Distance from the TV would be about 15 feet, the left side of the wall open to kitchen.
I went to a local store to listen to some speakers infinity and polks and also got the chance to listen to the Yamaha YSP 2300, the guy said that he has the 3300 and it is really good.
I have never considered a soundbar, but this has intrigued me, it helps coz there will be no wires and it will also make the wife happy. He also told me the YSP is actually a sound projector and a receiver in one, its has hdmi connections etc,
But i did not get to ask him if i can stream music from my iphone wirelessly. which is one of the reasons i bought a receiver with airplay capabilities, which i can return if i go with the soundbar option.
So I came home and started reading up and the YSP's which have got some good reviews.
I also found out about the Pioneer Speaker bar and the BW panoramas.
How do all these 3 compare besides prices. Also, since the YSP 3300 and 4300 were released last year, will there be a new model this year and if so when, i don't want to buy something and have them come out with a new model in a few weeks.
My main criteria would be for movies and tv, but also will be listening to music (streaming) ability has to be there. I know the pioneer has Bluetooth steaming, does the YSP and BW have it too.
I am new to soundbars so any suggestions would be valuable.
