I know this will sound strange, but my JBL SB400 volume increases uncontrollably when I access menus on my Sharp Aquos TV. For example, if I access the TV's menu to adjust TV settings, as I push the left/right/up/down arrows to navigate through the menu options, the JBL SB400 soundbar volume starts going up with each push of the buttons. Anyone have any idea why or how to stop it from adjusting volume?

I had the same thing happen when connecting a Vizio 2.0 soundbar to my upstairs Dynex TV (I know...) via analog connection. Never figured it out for sure, though.

Your soundbar is using some of the same commands from one device to control something completely different on a second device. A possible solution is a universal remote such as a Harmony which should be able to properly control everything at the same time.
