Hi Can anyone help please. I have a Panasonic TX-P37C10B TV it does not have digital optical sound output. I have connected an ORBITSOUND sound bar via the red & white audio out from the TV to the AUX input on the soundbar. The sound comes through fine but the I need to use the soundbar remote to control the volume on the soundbar and I would prefer to use the TV remote. Also note the sound still comes from the TV but we are OK with that.

Thanks

You're probably gonna have to use a universal remote and I assume you can't turn down or off the tv speakers without effecting the RCA audio out?

Correct. I think the problem is that the volume control on the TV does not effect the level of the signal going out through the RCA connections. I have also tried connecting the TV & soundbar via the headphone socket on the TV and its the same problem. turning the sound up / down on the TV does not change the level of the signal coming out of the RCA ports. So I think the best option is a universal remote.

thanks for the post - Alan in the UK
