HI there guys, i'm a but confused here. So i got the samsung sound bar that states I need to connect for HDMI one coming from the digital source to the sound bar, then from the sound bar to the tv.

What I don't like about this is I have both satellite receiver and a PS3 connected to the TV right now to their own individual HDMI ports. I can make this work by using an optical cable however I can't control the volume of the sound bar with the universal remote, I have to use the sound bar remote to change the volume which is a little cumbersome.

The manual states if i connect the it threw hdmi i can turn the sound bar automatically with the tv and obviously control the volume threw one remote, but how can i connect two sources to one sound bar? Why can't it be single from the TV threw hdmi to the sound bar like the optical cable?

Assuming you have a HDMI ARC compatible TV which it sounds like you do, you can plug the PS3 into the soundbar's HDMI in port and achieve what you are looking for. The PS3 Slim also supports HDMI-CEC so you can also use your stock remote to control play/pause/etc.
