I have a Samsung HW-F450 soundbar and it has a 'DRC' funtion. In the manual it says..

This feature balances the range between the loudest and quietest sounds. You can use this function to enjoy Dolby Digital sound when watching movies at low volume at night.

So when I press the DRC button I get these options - DRC MIN > DRC STANDARD > DRC MAX

Can you guys please explain to me in more detail what this means please? The only other thing I read elsewhere was "The higher the setting the more pronounced the voices will be".

I have tried it to see if I notice any difference but its hard to tell...

Thanks

DRC = Dynamic Range Compression. It limits the dynamic range of a program. If you are viewing a program with normal dialogue and then an explosion happens it will limit how loud the explosion is played. I would leave it off or minimum if you wan to get the full audio experience. If you listen at night or have a baby sleeping it might we worthwhile to use this feature so nothing gets too loud.
