I realize this question must have been asked before, but I'll go for it anyway
I currently own the Sony HT-CT150, hooked up to a 65" TV.
I'm fairly happy with it, but I was wondering if I could upgrade to something that would give me a better listening experience. Needless to say (since I own a sound bar
), I am not an audiophile so please excuse my poor terminology...
My requirements are:
1. Good vocal clarity
2. Mostly used for watching TV and movies. Music is a lower priority.
3. I don't like very high bass / "boomy" sound, so a loud subwoofer is definitely not a requirement.
4. Should have good audio quality in low-medium volume levels.
5. Preferably would like to stay under $500.
Any thoughts? Perhaps I should just stick to my HT-CT150?
I was looking at the Pioneer SP-SB23W. Would it be a worthy upgrade to the Sony?
I can also consider a non-sound bar setup, with the exclusion of rear speakers since the only possible placement for those would be on the ceiling and it's too much hassle to set up...
