Sonos Playbar - No wires!

I am considering the Sonos Playbar. This may make you all cringe, but how the wall looks is more important than the quality of the sound (after a point). Also, we want to be abel to stream music from our phones and this seems to be a relatively cheap 2-in-1 solution.

I know the Sonos only requires an optical cable connection to the TV to play all the TV sound (DVR, Blueray, etc.). But can I run that optical cable through the wall so there are no visible wires running up my wall between the Playbar (resting on the low Media cabinet) and the TV (wall mounted 2-3 feet above the Playbar)? I will be running HDMI and Ethernet cables through the wall and providing power to the TV through a plug behind it... can I run an Optical cable the same way? Is there any meaningful signal loss when going from 1 cable and 1 connection to 3 cables and 5 connections?

Thanks for any help/advice!

No one will cringe. You're in the soundbar sub forum. The playbar can be a great choice. I'm getting one in a few weeks when I move.

I'm not aware of any optical cables that are rated for in-wall use. Not sure why. It would be a pain, but there are coaxial / optical converters for less than $20 and you could run coax through the wall.
