Question Whats a good sound bar for under $400?

Been using the TV's built in speakers for years, so I have no clue about such things nor if I really want to upgrade but been considering a move to a sound bar, preferably one with a wireless accoustimass and no more than $400. There are so many out there, have no clue which would be best bang for the buck.
Also would be more convenient if it's something I can find at my local Best Buy or HH Gregg. I really don't want to order one online unless it's just really all that. I looked at a couple in the store before but they either looked really cheap or ones like the Bose was kinda up there but if it's the better of the bunch I might splurge for it since I don't want to have to upgrade ever again. Unfortunately I never get a chance to demo anything in the stores.

Is there one in this price range that will keep the volume level the same regardless of how loud the content is? I'm asking because I really hate how music in a movie will get super loud and the talking will be too quiet. So I'm always having to adjust the volume...it's really annoying. I'm willing to spend more $$ just to get one with that feature. Also if it means I'll never have to upgrade again, I'll spend a lot more, just depends.

under $400 is a tough market. I would probably say the Sony HT770. It is $399, decodes DD+ and DTS, and has 3 HDMI inputs (usually reserved for $1000+ systems).
