2016 Vizio SmartCast sound bars

I'm keeping an eye out for the 2016 Vizio sound bars as I am in the market for one and it looks like this checks all the boxes. The Vizio CTO that was posting has confirmed that they will be slim enough to fit under their TVs. From the teaser on the Vizio site, they will sport Casting, 104 dB of sound pressure (higher than last year) and a subwoofer that is slim enough to hideaway under the couch (but it's so sexy why would you?)

Does anyone have any info I missed? See them for sale anywhere?

from Vizo website, there will be 3 models coming soon this year.

I am definily getting the 45" flagship one.

Definitely excited for these, I had not realized Vizio had announced the different kits until Brookklyn's post. I have a 65' P Series (2016) on the way, I am really hoping to pair it with the 45" kit. I just hope the price is reasonable. I don't there there is any ETA, just like with the new M series. That's mostly why I went with the P series, the wait was killing me.

Dying for information as well and this is what I found:

The latest information I got from the new 45" 2016 model is here on hometheater about
Just google "The Vizio SB4551 D5 51" as I can't link it

Looking up SB4551, I see a few (sketchy) retailers already have it listed with "smartcast" and the price seem to be from $500-$600, but like I said, I wouldn't trust/buy from those sites I saw it on.

Can't wait for this, just need a review to tell me the slim subwoofer is amazing and I'm in (although I have my doubts because of the size)

Saw a few sku's in Best Buy's RSS that speak of the 45 inch model. Stock is on the way to warehouses from what I could see. So I assume it'll be a few weeks before they are widely available. Still no listing online or in the Magnolia catalog.

So, as it has been stated in this thread searching for the part number of the 45" model now returns some results. Of course I have never heard of these retailers before that have them, but pricing is 500ish USD. I will admit 500 is very fair but I was hoping for high 300ish. I know this pricing could be completely bogus, we will just wait a see.

Is there an anticipation thread for these sound bars? I have yet to find one. If not maybe we should start one. I can't wait to get my hands on the SP4551-D5.

I'm excited to see the review's of the flagship sound bar system. I wonder if it would be able to give Sonos a run for their money? I have a Sonos soundbar and sub but I am getting tired of having to do workarounds to get 5.1 so this new vizio setup with smartcast may just win me over.

I'm looking at the new Vizio's as a cheaper alternative. Their soundbars brand new have been around the $350 range, so hope the trend continues. Already bought one Chromecast Audio, and hoping to have the Vizio soundbar have multiroom with this.

yea if I were you I would wait until the new Vizio 5.1 soundbars are released I think you're going to see a huge improvement on what was already a good system also with the google cast built in definitely worth it.

I just got the new P65-C1 4K TV. I really need this new sound bar to complete the package. It seems vizio went a cheap route when it came to designing the sound for the new P-Series but maybe its to push customers to purchase the new sound bars to work in harmony with one another. I know it worked for me because I will be getting one of these new SmartCast sound bars.

So I was at my local Walmart this last weekend and was looking at the soundbars and they had 3 38 inch Vizio 5.1's with the model number sb3851-d0. I thought it might have been a typo but the boxes also had Smartcast right across the side. Any idea if this is one of the new models?

**FIRST POST ALERT** Please contain your excitement people.

Anyway, is there ANY word on a release for these soundbars and the Crave 360/Pro to go along with it? I just bought a 2016 P-65 and am holding off on buying any HT equipment until these new Smartcast speakers come out. I've got an older Samsung soundbar holding me over for now but it's just not cutting it. Hurry up Vizio!

Do it!

Stock seems to be depleting from Best Buy and the Vizio online store, so my guess is they'll be out very soon.

As far as I can tell, the model number of the 2016 bars all start with SP

Check your local Walmart they might have a few models in stock. I'm debating on getting the sb3851-d0 tonight after work, maybe I'll do a review on it if I grab it tonight.

Not over optical, they won't. But I think I remember reading that these include an HDMI. I assume that this is ARC so, yeah. DD+ and DTS HD (however the acronym goes) should be supported over ARC. They won't be lossless but it's better than just the core layer.
