During one of the recent baseball broadcasts on D*, a commercial was shown of the X-Games. Although not something I watch, the commercial was so awesome I am now in countdown mode to the start of the games on July 29.

Here's the description from D*:

The biggest event in extreme sports is back for its sixteenth year. Fearless skateboarders, BMXers, and beyond will risk life and limb to pull off some of the most amazing, gravity-defying tricks ever executed. Now, for the first time, see the action from a new perspective on ESPN 3D July 29 - Aug 1.

The broadcasts showed up in the on screen guide today on channel 103. I wonder why they are not using channel 106, ESPN3D?

It's currently scheduled for 2 days on ESPN3D, Thurs and Sat for a couple hours each day.

Channel 1610, ESPN 3D......
Limited content though.... for $10 more a month.
I had a chat with a CSR, "supposedly" they are looking at packaging options for this September....

Ya, I should have said where is my free 3D. I'm already paying for the U400 package, I shouldn't have to pay another $10 for one channel I won't use that much.
I hope they don't turn into another Time Warner and nickel and dime me to death.

Is there going to be an online stream or delayed online options for 3D?

The press release on Engadget HD only mentions HD on espn3.com and no 3D

I need content for my new Acer 3D Vision monitor that should be arriving in a few days (need it for some testing and wanted something that I could do 1080p gaming on!).

I don't think they're doing 3D on ESPN3, it would be cool if they did, but they've never mentioned it.

What does that have to do with ESPN3 showing 3D content?

3D Looks great... Interesting that it seems to be a simulcast of ESPNHD unlike the Home Run Derby. Although there is extended coverage while regular ESPN is in commercial and that's when they talk up the 3D

It looks great. There were a few shots where something weird was goning on with the camera and I had to close one eye. I think ESPN is trying to give its camermen and producers experience on how to shoot in 3D.

The slowmo shots are out of this world.

Is anyone able to record this show?

Did IQ's suddenly drop sharply while I was away?
I enjoy 3D in spite of HDMI 1.4!
Full screen only 3D doesn't cut it!

The lighting conditions for this broadcast were very bad. In the later afternoon you have harsh shadows and transitions from very bright to very dark. The lenses don't react fast enough from dark to light.

I noticed the same thing on the All Star game. For sporting events the best light seems to be indoors or night where the light is consistent across the playing area.

I noticed that a little bit, but it didn't bother me that much.

Loved the shots of the dirt bikes coming up that hill out of the Coliseum.

Was anyone having A/V sync issues with ESPN3D last night? The audio seemed to be about 1/2 second behind the video on UVerse. I've seen this now on both the Home Run Derby and the XGames.

I have the OnkyoTX-SR508 receiver and a Mitsubishi WD-60735 DLP. I just purchased the Mitsubishi 3DC-1000 3D starter kit. The kit works fine when I connect directly to the TV, but the TX-SR508 (with 1.4a HDMI) will not pass the 3D through receiver to the TV. The picture flashes on a couple of times then stays off with never any sound. I am using 1.4a high speed HDMI cables.
It looks like a HDMI handsake problem, but the Onkyo suppose to pass 3D. Does anyone know anything about this problem? I thank you in advance for your help.

I'm still a believer in keeping all wiring simple. Why send the 3-D signal through your AVR? One more thing to cause problems as you have experienced.

Why not send the 3-D signal straight into your TV and use an optical cable from source into your AVR? Works for me.
