Saddly, I can't. My software conversions only work on SD-DVD right now, there is a work around, buy I don't have a big enough hard drive to just start copy'n BD's to my HD.

Per their review:

and at times the on screen product seemed to be showing multiple layers, almost like watching the movie through a window. Overall it was a complete mess with maybe a handful of scenes that showed promise in the third dimension.

Also per their review:

"I was actually pleasantly surprised by some of this transfer. It appears Warner Brothers put some work into this release and improved upon the horrible 3D that was shown in theaters. I noticed a much greater sense of depth throughout the film, something I hardly ever experienced during the theatrical run. The best example of this came in the desert scene in which Perseus and the gang are fighting off the giant scorpions. In one shot Perseus is running towards the camera while the scorpion chases him from behind. I actually felt a nice sense of depth in this scene and it seemed there was some distance between Perseus and the scorpion. This sort of added depth was a welcome addition to this 3D Blu-ray attempt.

I was also impressed with the lack of ghosting on this transfer. I didn't notice a single instance. Bright colors were also present throughout the film, I had mentioned in my previous review of 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - 3D' that everything was a bit darker than in the 2D version. With this film, I found the colors to be right on par with the levels in the 2D release."

I paid 21 Euros plus 14 Euros shipping. The 35 Euros equals about US$47 at a $1,28 exchange rate.

I don't think it was worth it even for 21 Euros. For those on the fence, I'd say wait 'til a better movie comes out.

You've taken that line completely out of context. The reviewer was talking about his experience when seeing it at the movie theater, not the BluRay.

If you read the review closely he clearly says that based on his memories of the theatrical release it looks like WB has cleaned up the 3D effects for the home release.

I'd love to know if WB is ever planning on releasing this in the USA or not; I've resisted picking up the German release because I'm one of OCD types who would be bothered by the fact that its the only film in my library that doesn't have an english cover (I've never denied being weird).

This is what I experienced seeing on the BD. He stated he saw it in the theater and it is still present on the disc. He did not say it was not present on the disc.

Well I say it is significantly less annoying on BD, occupying pretty much the entire field of view on both ocassions.

I say, not bad, not bad at all. I liked the flick as well. They stuck to the story and kept it short / action packed.

The reviewer certainly echoed many of my own thoughts on it and the 3D quality.

I've tried it in a PS3 and Arcsoft on PC and it brings up an error message that a 3D player and display are *required* and then it just quits. For the record I have 2 other 3D discs that work fine in 2D mode.

They provide a separate BluRay 2D disk in the package with the 3d BluRay. I did verify my 3D disk will not play in the PS3 as well. I guess they chose to do two separate disks rather then use the same disk for both 2D and 3D. Where "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" used one disk to house both versions.

I don't know what all the bad reviews are about because I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and really enjoyed the 3D. Now although there weren't any pop out of the screen effects the added depth really made this more fun to watch and the pq of this 3D Blu Ray is nothing short of fantastic. I highly suggest ignorance to reviews and everything written about how bad the 3D was in the theater because again the quality of this release is awesome. Go buy it and enjoy, I know you will. Release the Kraken!

I agree....We finally got to watch it last night and found it to be well worth the investment. We did not see it in the theaters due mainly to all the bad hype it received. However, since we were expecting the worse we found ourselves thoroughly entertained. The 3d effects, though not outstanding or as well done as the "Grand Canyon River at Risk", were still there with plenty of depth.

yes i agree, i bought the movie from amazon.de , surprisingly it was good. i have read so many bad feedback about the movie and how bad of 2d convert to 3d therefore i did not see it in cinema but i find it was entertained , i think ppl set the bar as high as avatar ? and info about the movie that 2d convert to 3d and put them off ? im not sure but come on give it a credit to this 3d blu ray version . i think it worth the money i paid for.

Got around to watching this last night, and I agree with the OP. I was pleasantly surprised with the 3D effects. I didn't see this in the theater, but read about how bad the conversion was. The studio seemed to put a little more effort into the 3D BD.

Currently testing 3D with Sammy DLP, shutter glasses, and HTPC
