Looks like The Final Destination blu-ray 3D will finally be released on August 16.

I will add it to my collection, but I hope they also convert and release the previous FD's.

I don't think we'll see that conversion, but I was really surprised that they didn't release this one on Blu-Ray 3D at first anyway since it was 3D in the theatres. But I suppose that was still pretty early in the 3D TV life cycle so they figured it wouldn't sell. Perhaps this is a sign of a change in the industry. Which would be grrrreat

Yeah the original release on Blu ray was January 2010 before the 3D equipment was released. I'm just glad they are going to release this in proper 3D. Now if Friday the 13th Part 3 3D and Jaws 3D would get released, I'd be really grateful.

I'm pretty sure they are releasing it tie in with the opening of FINAL DESTINATION 5 (in 3-D) this August. I'd expect they will put a blu-ray 3D of JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH out when its (in production) 3-D sequel is opening as well.

That's the one I'm waiting for! I've been forced to hold onto my regular Journey Blu-Ray with the cardboard red and blue glasses lol. I've seen it in 3D on Time Warner on demand and it looked great so I know the print is out there... jerks holding off on it.

I actually saw this in theaters with RealD and it was pretty good. However, and maybe it was just me, the parts where they tried to do pop-out never really did pop out. If you look at the trailer for the movie, they'll show you tires and pointy objects exploding towards the screen, but I guess it happens too quickly for it to really pop out.

I too saw it in a theater and it had plenty of pop ups. I remember saying this kind of movie is made for pop outs. I thought the story was good enough also so I'm looking forward to getting it.

Why bother buying.
I'm renting it for $7.99
This is worth a rental at best anyway from all reviews I've read.

Oh, he, he. That'll happen sometime. Picked this up a lunch time from BB along with 3D Narnia and Ice Age 3D. Not every day you get four 3D movies released. I'll probably watch one this evening. Too hot outside to do much here in Chicago. I know other locations are sweating it out also.

Picked this up yesterday from BB along with Narnia and Ice Age. FD3D is a fine looking BD. Right away, I noticed that the colors are very deep and rich and the black level is inky. I watched it on a Samsung (64D8000) PDP calibrated by Jeff (UMR). The movie was shot in 3D and it looks like it. I only watched a few minutes of it but it was enough to satisfy my curiousity as to how the movie would look on blu ray. I know the story as I saw it in a theater and liked it. My wife liked it also which was surprising as the movie is gory and she doesn't like those types of movies. I'll watch the rest this weekend and plan on seeing FD5 on 8/12.

I haven't watched the new disc yet. I did see it theatrically and it wasn't the best shot of the recent "native" 3-D movies. Many of the gimmicks misfired due to improper shooting (though there were some good ones) and the director didn't seem to understand how to block or layer his composition for depth as well as he could have. I still had a good time though, I mean it wasn't as if my expectations were that high anyway!

I'm hoping his next 3-D feature (SHARK NIGHT, opening soon) will show some growth.

The trailers for FINAL DESTINATION 5 also look more promising than the previous entry, especially from a 3-D standpoint.

The snake is the best. Great detail and in your face. I thought someone said that there was a trailer for FD5. I sure didn't see it anywhere in the extras. Very good PQ, AQ and 3D pop with no ghosting (Samsung PN64D8000).

Got Final Destination 3D (aka Final Destination 4) at Fry's today for $18.99.
It was strange because on one rack there was one with a price tag of $34.99, then I found it on another rack with a tag for $22.99, which I took to the register and my receipt said $18.99. MSRP is $44.98 (the most expensive MSRP 3D blu ray I've seen), Amazon has it now for $21.99. No doubt discounted because Final Destination 5 is out now (which I didn't see at Fry's today)
