AFAIK, the last thing they showed in 3D was the NHL Winter Classic. That was over 4 months ago.

I think Cablevision did the Masters too but I'm not sure. The lack of content is frustrating. I don't have line-of-sight for Directv and Fios TV isn't available in my area. Amazon-On-Demand doesn't have anything and Netflix has very little. I heard Qriocity has some but that's been down since I got my new TV. I've tried 3d Blu-ray Rental but they're slow and relatively expensive. Argh!

what does netflix have in 3d? can you point me in that direction?

i have your same frustrations with cablevision... they're awful. I got my 3d tv in august and there have been 2 things broadcast ('10 pga championship and '11 nhl winter classic). how sad.

any ideas as to how we can push them to get espn3d?

As for Netflix, just search "3D" and few titles will show up. Be warned though, IMAX: Hubble says 3D but it's not. I found out the hard way. As for pushing Cablevision to get more 3D, your guess is as good as mine. I was told that if you call and make content requests it will be forwarded to the powers that be.

I assume you're talking about 3d blu-ray deliveries? I can't find anything on the "watch instantly".

I've worked for cablevision's optimum online business tech support for well over 5 years, I recently resigned to work for 1010 WINS radio station in Manhattan for better pay. I can tell you first hand the reason you don't have espn3 access or espn3d is the same reason you currently do not have access to NFL network. Jim Dolan is the cheapest, most consumer unfriendly head honcho there ever was.

He believes that the rates in todays market should reflect those of the 1980's. He will not invest to upgrade residential network infrastructure, add more premium content, or do right by the customer if he is not forced to. Do not expect espn 3d anytime soon, I suggest when FIOS comes to town you get a great introductory rate and play the disconnect game with their retention dept to keep it. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

If you don't want to wait for FIOS and would like to give cablevision hell, I would suggest calling their video dept and demand to file a corporate complaint for not providing the content you deserve to have. They fear the words "corporate complaint". It will get you somewhere, trust me.

I'm pretty sure Verizon said they're not going to expand FIOS in to any new areas for the time being. If you were in an area they were already building out then you may be in luck.

I've had FIOS phone and internet for years but the TV service is still not available. So the infrastructure is in place but for some bureacratic reason I'm stuck with Cablevision. Very frustrating when my friend who lives in an incorporated village less than a mile away gets it but I can't.

Verizon and the town may have issues coming to a fair franchise agreement. I don't know the details but Verizon has no issue spending money if its in the same ballpark as cablevisions current agreement. Most likely Dolan and his goons have your area locked down and looked after.

Yesterday Cablevision added 3D VOD options. There are movies on demand in 3D starting at $4.95 each and Starz on Demand also has several 3D titles available for those that subscribe to it.

not many options to choose from in the regular 3d selection. the only preview in 3d is Gforce. the others that do have previews are only in 2d, which is weird because it's for a 3d movie

not bad that the prices are the same as other HD titles

What format are they broadcasting the VOD 3D films in? Side-by-side?

I'd be interested to hear how the tennis looks in 3D. I'm a little skeptical about it given the camera is focused on a tiny fast moving ball most of the time, as well as the resolution chop due to the top/bottom format. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Can you see channel 1300 in the guide even when there is no 3d broadcast playing? Cablevision support told me that but I have never yet been able to tune to 1300 in months.

No! Sometime in the past 8 weeks it disappeared.
Used to be able to go to it and get a message basically saying "nothing to see here". Now it's not even a channel. Not that I expected any coverage

Has anyone seen any press about Cablevision carrying any Olympics in 3D now that the broadcast plans have been announced?
Bought a 3D Plasma in January and have yet to see any 3D content from the Dolans, other than PPV.

I also heard that channel 1300 may become a full time 3d channel with mixed programming (movies, sports, specials, etc)
