File this under rumor: this is what one guy supposedly saw for a brief moment when booting the app on his PS3:

This would be so awesome if they did it! We've got Vudu on the PS3 that has a lot of 3D options, but if I didn't have to pay extra then I'd be even happier hehe.

Ditto! Worse, the Vudu purchase is only good for the device you got it on. I have several Vudu capable devices but each wants a separate account. If I buy on my PS3 in the HT and later want to watch it on my other 3D TV, I have to buy it again.

I tried to find that 3D setting on Netflix but failed. I think this was a fluke more than a rumor of things to come. Hope I'm wrong.

PS3 has quite a bit of 3D content now. The quality of the movies is quite good too. I recently inquired about DirecTV 3D and discovered the minimum it would cost me is $75 + tax per month to get 3D and DVR here. From what I hear, 3DNet is the best channel and you can get those programs on the PS3 for a charge each. Buying each of those programs seems expensive but much cheaper than the $55/mo special for 12 months followed by $75 for 12 months contract with DirecTV.

If you call Vudu customer service, they will reset your devices and allow you to use all your devices under one account. I did ths and has worked fine for me.

Yeah, that sounds good. You will get another free movie rental when you re-register your device too.

You can activate the different devices under the same account and they still give you the credit. I did this and used each credit towards the purchase of a 3D movie. . And you can manage all of your devices from the website. You can have up to five devices on one account . So if you are not using one deactivate it and activate another and get a credit. Vudu has come a long way since I was beta testing for them back 2007. They just need to get more 3D!

Netflix Streaming 3D soon?

That would be great if it happens!

Unfortunately, my ISP is so crappy that I can't even get decent 2D streaming to happen, so until things improve I probably won't be re-activating my Netflix account.

Netflix has had a really rough go of it over the last year or so, and I'm hoping they can regain their footing.

I hope they regain their footing also. I like Netflix and Amazon. All companies make mistakes along the way. I also hope they can stream 3D. I've never had cable and with Me TV and Netflix I'll never need cable.

Big surprise today!

I got my first 3DBD from Netflix today. It's "The Final Destination in 3D" It's not the latest one out but the one before "FD-4" Still it's exciting news that finally Netflix has a real 3D BD in stock to send out.

OK- just had a look and it's Blu Ray Anaglyph! Good quality Anaglyph but still not the real deal. Excitement is over!

Oh well, I guess Netlfix will get around to that one of these days. In the mean time, I'm renting 3D, BD from 3D Blu Ray Rental.com. They jumped in and filled a niche that Netflix has a wait n see outlook on.

This would be amazing! Unfortunately it took Netflix what...a good 2 or 3 years to add surround sound? Even still it's not offered on all movies (that seemingly should have surround). Hopefully they will move faster on this one.

Is that why i can never log in? I keep getting an email reminder that i have a $5.99 credit but when i use the same email address to log in, Vudu doesn't recognize it. Won't even send a password reset. They lost me as a customer because i gave up trying to log in. I hd already went through the registration twice.

That isn't correct, you can log into 5 devices and the content is not restricted to the original device purchased on. I have vudu logged in on my tv and my ps3.

I gave up on Pandora because of log-in problems.

Biggest problem I find with VUDU is the 3D content is inexplicably limited to so very few devices. I like the quality of the 2D streaming but even though I have it running through a "3D compatible" device (PS3), it somehow won't pass the signal to my 3D projector - saying, no 3D supported display detected. SO, it let me buy the movie (it saw the PS3), but won't pass the signal to my Epson 6010 3D projector. So now I have to wrangle with Vudu to get a refund. But worse, I can't believe their software is incapable of simply passing the signal to the "authorized" PS3 and let it pass the signal to any 3D display. Requiring BOTH a receiving device AND a specific brand/model of 3D display is ridiculous. And costing them money.

Love Netflix in 1080p which is good news for all with a broadband connection. Bad news is that 27000 movies are in 720p while 3200 are in 108p.

Re run your display resolutions automatically and make sure you have the 3d resolutions checked off on the ps3, my guess is that is the problem.

Well, your guess turns out to be accurate. I had set all the resolutions manually to 1080 and bitstream and never saw anything for 3D specifically (assumed passthrough at 1080). When I just re-ran it "automatically", I got the 3D messages! The only downside is, I immediately went to Vudu and ran the trailer of a couple of titles I know and was less than impressed vs. the blu ray 3D. Still, for items like Sammy - that everyone seems to think is so good in 3D and not easily available, Vudu is the way to go.

Thanks again for the suggestion, as returning to "automatic" would not have occurred to me.
