I have a panasonic st30 TV and a dish 722 receiver. I run it through an onkyo 260 audio receiver to connect to the tv.

If I try to rent a 3d VOD movie, it says my tv is not compatible with this event. The tv is a 3d set, and I've watched quite a few 3d blu-rays. But the dish receiver isn't seeing it as a 3d tv.

I have not tried connecting the dish straight to the tv because that just seems pointless. If it does work my sound will be crap through the TV speakers and won't be worth watching.

I've talked to Dish tech support and they don't seem to know what is going on. Their answer was "Dish doesn't have very much 3d content" and other nonsensical answers.

So, anyone else out there get the Dish 3d stuff to work? What's your setup?

Is your reciever 3D capable? If not you'll have to run straight to the TV

As far as the 722 receiver, it may only be able to output side by side or top and bottom 3D. If you are seeing two images when you rent a 3D movie thru dish, you will need to manually select side by side or top and bottom 3D mode on your TV set

What? The audio you get from Dish, Direct, or cable is the same from Optical, Digital Coax, or HDMI.

Direct connect it to the display, use the legacy digital audio cable and viola... You now have 3D with the best audio available from that source.

As suggested above , connect directly and it works like a charm. ( I have vip922 but 722 & 723K both deliver 3D as well )

I have a Vizio 55 razor. when I try to rent Vod from DISH Network I get the same incompatibility message. I have the hopper system. They say my tv is too new! No fix! Not happy.
