This could be better than Avatar and Hugo, I doubt Ridley Scott can mess up 3D and after reading this I think it will be amazing... http://www.slashfilm.com/ridley-scott-work-3d/

For those of you that haven't heard about it or seen it, the movie is basically what went on years before the movie Alien, check out the new teaser...

Can't wait for this, I have a good feeling about this one. Were going to find out where the "Space Jockey" they found from the first movie came from.

Making of Alien (part 5):

Highly recommended, but if you haven't seen Alien in awhile, i recommend watching that first.

From the trailers random cutting I think I have good idea where the space jockey came from and remember Dallas said. 'Bones are bent outward, like he exploded from inside'.

I can't wait until Alien: Prometheus goes national in the UK on 1st June. Was H.R. Giger involved on this project?

I like that they're giving Prometheus it's own lore and not just making it an alien prequel. Sure there will be tie ins but prequels tend to be boring depending strictly on that "oh yeah, there's the tie in" moment.

people have been waiting over thirty years for this movie. So glad we're finally going to get a chance to see it.

Hmmm...had no idea this will be in 3D. I hope they shoot it with more lighting than "John Carter" was shot in.

June 8th can't come soon enough. We've waited for over 30 years... but now I can't stand the anticipation! Alien is still my favorite film and Ridley revisiting this one (in 3d no less) is a dream come true.

33 years. and I was under-age to see Ridley Scott's ALIEN in the cinema around November 1979. I see this maybe going on for possibly 2 more films by which time it will be nearing the end of this decade...[coughing] make that 40 years.

If you read the article I linked in the first post I don't think you will be too worried about lighting

John Carter was converted and the director never planned for it to be in 3D. Prometheus is being filmed in 3D.

Unless we get a 16:9 3D cut, I'm not really expecting the 3D to be quite as immersive as Avatar and Hugo. However, Ridley Scott is a brilliant director, and I still have very high expectations for the film and its use of 3D.

I thought the brightness level was great in John Carter. By lighting issues, did you mean that it was too dark to see good detail? Could any of those issues have been related your theater's projector settings?

Apparently H.R. Giger did some work here and there on Prometheus, but he wasn't a full time artist for it i guess. Or something to that extent. The more help from him the better in my opinion.

Same here! I couldn't really appreciate the movie until years later. Yeah, any more films by Ridley for the franchise would be amazing, but given his track record, we'd probably see Gladiator 2 in 2033 first!

This movie is gonna be amazing. It may be a perfect opportunity to bust out my collection of Topps trading cards from the original Alien and see how much a collector may be willing to pay. Ive had these cards for over 30 years.

Saw the preview in 3d tonight with Wrath of the Titans and it looks amazing. June cannot come fast enough.

I'm not sure "prequel" is the right word here. In reality, this is as much of a prequel to Alien as Captain America is to Iron Man.

Yeah it supposedly not a prequel even though it is a prequel of sorts. Either way it is very exciting.

Thank you for the info; had no knowledge of this movie coming out.

Saw "Wrath of the Titans" but this preview wasn't shown
