I believe this one comes out in stores this week. I'm wondering how the 3D looks?

I saw this in a theater with to kids and the wife. The kids lost interest and so did I. The characters were of the dim witted acting kind and were always doing stupid stuff (especially the captain). I found the story not interesting due do the stupid characters. I don't remember being impressed with the 3D either.

Thanks for your thoughts. I guess I'm not surprised. I've read other reviews that say the 3D is pretty underwhelming as well. Looks like I'll pass on this one

Rented this from Vudu and it is a fun family film. It has good 3d depth and the story itself is for an intelligent audience. Well worth the $7 rental price.

Rotten Tomatoes critics give it an 87% while users gave it a 61%.

So if you find yourself often siding with the critics, see it.. especially if you like Wallace and Gromit, I would think.

I'll see it in the near future with family.

A movie with good 3D does not necessarily equal a good 3D movie!

Curious as to what you thought made this a story for an intelligent audience?

It was British humor mostly is why I say that. I If you think of some of the funny things that went on like having Darwin and his monkey in it, it becomes clear the humor isn't really for kids cause you have to think. They also splashed a bit of The Freshman with Broderick and Brando in the movie too.

Just got the latest Wide Screen Review magazine and they raved about the 3D. Even said it set a new standard. I saw it in a theater in 3D but I think I'll rent this from 3Dbluray.com to give it another chance and to see what it looks like at home in 3D.
