As you all know, Target is including an exclusive 90-min doc as an extra disc in their various Avengers editions (of which the 3D is one). Has anyone bought it yet, and if so, is the extra disc worth all of the bother? Actually, is the extra disc a blu-ray at all, or is it a DVD?

Haven't watched it yet, but it is a Blu-Ray disc

The extra BluRay disc that I got with the purchase has mini documentaries on each of the Marvel characters. It's not a music disc.

Is the extra disc worth it? For me, no. I rarely watch any "Extra" stuff. I just appreciated going to a local store and buying the movie for $20.

If you any kind of fanboy it is well worth it. Has multiple segments describing each of the movies. Production highlights. Footage behind and in front of the camera. Shows the origins with footage of the original comic books, as well as the progression of each of the books over the years. Designing and making the iron man armor, Thor hammer, other weaponry. Puts it together for the final movie. With interviews and commentary from most of the directors and actors. Pretty crammed for 90 minutes. Great highlights from all the movies. Makes one want to watch all of the movies over again.

Thanks for the review! I finally lucked out and found a Target that had some in stock (after striking out at 2 other locations). $19.99 for the 4-disc 3D edition with the extra documentary disc, what a deal!

The extras of a disc can be interesting, especially the directors commentary. They like to poke fun at PETA, in the scenes that involve animals smile.gif. Plus, its a clever counter to the bootleg market. You'd rather wait for the blu ray with alternate endings, director and actor interviews, documentaries, and behind the scenes footage than a cheap bootleg with just the movie smile.gif.

The Avengers 3D Blu-Ray is no longer showing up on Target.com. Anyone else able to see it?

I finally checked out the Target bonus disc today. Some of the material seemed familiar and may have been lifted from the featurettes on the previous Marvel movies but overall it was a great overview of how Marvel created their cinematic universe and the progression from Iron Man in 2008 to this year's Avengers. There is a lot of interesting info and interviews crammed onto the disc and Kevin Feige's observations on each movie were particularly interesting. I actually found the material on the bonus disc far superior to the "official" extras on the Avengers BluRay and for anyone who snagged the Target 3D edition, the bonus disc is definitely worth a look.
