Does anyone know if the new release of Avatar 3d is exactly the same as the first limited release? I want to get it but would like to be sure it is the same quality as the first release that got so many great reviews.

It's the same as the Panasonic give-away.

I picked it up for $30 today, it's about as barebones as it gets. I could have got it for $25, I feel it should be at $20. I already own the collectors addition so I don't mind it being barebones. I figure after them making billions, having 3 releases and waiting 2 years to buy at retail they could give us a break and throw us a bone at $20 msrp.

It was a $19.99 preorder with free shipping on frys.com, my order shipped monday. You can get it now for $22.99 still with free shipping option! http://www.frys.com/product/7275753

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! If I had know Avatar and other movies would be held for so long I would of waited and gotten a newer 3dtv. Oh well, I'm still happy with my passive 42in vizio even though its not the best.

I love how some folks are still trying to sell this for $75+ on ebay. Donkeys.

Still kinda miffed that it's only the theatrical cut.. I actually like the extended cut, I want that one in 3D. So this one's a no-buy for me until JC says that they'll never release the extended cut in 3D.

Welcome to Rivendell, Mister Anderson.

Got mine for "free" at Best Buy using my credit card points, and they had it ready for me when I arrived.

jedi - I completely agree! The extended edition added alot to the story, like what happened at the school. Hopefully it won't take 2-3 years to hear if there will be a 3D release of the extended version. (I also thought the extended version of The Lord of the Rings trilogy was much better than the theatrical version, telling a more complete story... and I can't wait till The Hobbit trilogy (3D?) extended version hits the market).
