I have read great reviews about Sammy's adventures for the 3D.

I am in Canada and the only copies I can find on Amazon or Ebay are from the UK and Region B encoded.

Any suggestions on where to get a Region A or Region Free version?

I have the PS3 or a Samsung 3D player to view with.

Thanks

Here's the only place I know of that still carries the Region A:

Does it have CC, the last time I bought one of those Hong Kong knockoffs the description said English and Cantonese, but when I received it there were no English caps.

It has an English language soundtrack, although you'll have to select it -- it isn't the default track. Not a big deal.

I don't know about captions... I'll look into it.

Universal's Blu-Rays are region-free. I have the UK version of Coraline since it was cheaper than the US edition and it plays fine in region A, although my Oppo player has the all-region add-on.

Is it playing ok 'cause it's actually region-free or because of the region free add on?confused.gif AmazonUK's site says it's region B although it is a Universal release. Sure don't want to open it up to find out it won't play & then not be able to return it. Just wasn't thinking when I ordered (senior moment?). I got Creature from the Black Lagoon from them which is region-free & also Universal so I decided to order "Sammy" for my Grand kids and picked up Coraline as well. I thought about trying to get my Panny 210's firmware "updated" but don't think it'll be worth the hassle.

So Anyone actually buy and watch the Sammy's Adventure 2 3D Blu yet? How does the 3D compare to the original? Is it as strong as the first one? Wanted to hear from someone before I ordered my copy.

Looks like Yesasia has it now as well...

I believe it's also streaming in 3D on Netflix now, too, if you can access their 3D.

Yes the 3D is as good as the first one. A lot of the action is in a large aquarium park with lots of interesting characters.

I was in Walmart yesterday and there was a poster/sign for Sammy's Adventure by the door saying it was coming, I think next week. This leads me to believe (guess?) the 3D version might be available here then as well. confused.gif

So true but hey guess what I have charter as well and unblock-us with the ps3 is as slow as xmas. It does allow the 3d and super hd but sssooooss slow it wont play. I found uno telly. Does the same thing but does not kill the ps3 speed. With the 15m service from charter it would knock it down to 3.5 to 4. With the uno telly I am getting about 8.5 to 9. Still not the 12 to 13 but it works great. I have been watching starting at 13 min in and the next 3 to 5 minutes is ausem.
The uno telley is about a buck a month cheaper I am in the 2nd day of the 8 day free trial. So far so good. My 30 meg from charter is supposed to come up soon , so it will be interesting to see what the 30 does over the 15.
Tip I just do the setting in the ps3. Change the dns server. Much less hassel and nothing else gets the 3d netflix but the ps3 as of now antway.

Just got back from Walmart. They have Sammy 2 out with a sticker on it that says it's a Walmart exclusive. There were only 2D versions out. Once again we who like 3D are ignored. They didn't even have a a special 3D collectors edition (Blu-ray 3D, Bluray, DVD, Downloadable, Sammy figurine and Seaworld discout ticket....all for $39.35)

I do have Charters 30 meg but no ps3, I'm not a gamer. Using Roku for NF.
