Not much talk about it on the forum so I decided to rent it.

Interesting concept and relies on 3D for much of the story line. Probably one of the most technically demanding 3D sets I've seen yet, and some of the real overlay with CGI could still use some work. If you watch this, you definitely need to watch the bonus stuff on how they made it. A simple love story, that sometimes gets a little repetitive, but I enjoyed it anyway. Only real complaint was the use of high-contrast glare lighting to make the sets look futuristic and unearthly. Unfortunately, that kind of lighting also makes 3D look harsh and unwatchable sometimes. But if you can get beyond that, it's worth a rental at least. When I saw this, I thought how great Inception would have been in 3D.

The movie never played theatrically in 3D. It was converted only for home video.

Ah, that explains a lot. Funny, I didn't get that it wasn't filmed in 3D from the bonus material.

I liked it, and more importantly, my wife liked it. Interesting effects. I'm still projecting onto sheets but it appeared to have good depth. Gotta fix the screen thing before football season.

Hah, been there. I went from a sheet to a white plastic window shade tape to the wall to a Dalite High Power screen, then several other screens in between including a homemade 142" screen, and now back to a 159" High Power screen, which makes watching 3D like imax in the basement ;o).
