Star Trek Into Darkness (best movie of the summer)

Despicable Me 2

Man of Steel (didn't like this movie very much but I'm a big Superman fan)

Great Gatsby (I was surprised how much I liked this movie)

Pacific Rim (home theater demo of 2013; this movie is going to make my neighbors very unhappy)

*I didn't forget it, I left out Iron Man 3 on purpose. I hated that movie.*

For me it will be....

Star Trek Into Darkness: Average story but great visuals; even though parts of the movie made me cringe seeing Star Trek in3D is one of those items on my checklist so this is a must buy.

Man of Steel: In my opinion a great re-imagining of the character for the post 9/11 world; I only saw the 2D version theatrically so I'm curious to see how the 3D plays at home

Pacific Rim: Never saw this at the theaters (more because of lack of free time than anything else) but the positive word of mouth around these parts has made me curious.

I'm torn on Iron Man 3; I've been a huge Iron Man fan since childhood; loved the first movie, liked the second one, thought Avengers was great but was incredibly disappointed and downright angry and what a poor experience watching Iron Man 3 was. My expectations were really high going in so part of me wants to give it another chance but certain creative decisions (how the Mandarin was presented, what Stark ends up doing with his armors and ARC reactor, and the whole finale) really made me hate the movie. Might wait for a sale or other price drop.

World War Z is another one of those movies that wasn't on my radar but it got some good writeups so I may pick it up if nothing else is available and I'm looking for another 3D title.

Sadly, I don't think there are many blu rays releasing this summer that are worth purchasing . . .

I picked up GI Joe the other day because I was curious about how the 3D looked. It was marginal at best IMHO.

I will pick up Star Trek Into Darkness, Man of Steel and Pacific Rim.

Have you heard of the Superman vs Batman movie due out in 2015? Guess who will play Batman . . . Ben Affleck!!!

I have Star Trek pre-ordered and a group coming over a few days later. Likewise Pacific Rim. I really enjoyed both as immense blockbuster type movies. I share your views on IM3.

I really didn't like MoS or Despicable Me 2 enough to buy them.

I preordered WWZ based on not having seen it. I figure if I dislike it I can flip it.

Still just 3 which is less than I expected.
