Hi all

I usually do a lot of window shopping first, comparing the used prices on Amazon and eBay with shipping for older titles and overseas versions.

Also find some bargains for new releases too.

For instance. Today was able to negotiate for $23 and free shipping on eBay a new copy of the already released region free X men Apocalypse which was seven dollars less than the best preorder price on Amazon which for me would include additional tax and shipping.

Often I simply sell my old DVDs to FYE, take a store credit and use them toward used 3Ds when they have a 30% off used sale on line.

What is FYE? I've got tons of old DVDs I'd like to sell.

Hi K,

It's a franchise - "For Your Entertainment". On their website you can check out what they will pay for your old DVD by entering the UPC code. I bring them to the local store.

http://www.fye.com/

They will give you a little extra if you accept a store credit instead of cash. I take the credit cause often they have on-line sales on sales of used blu rays, like 30 percent off. No shipping on $40 or more (before discount). Saved a lot of money this way.

Have any one got problem upon placing order to Zavvi lately? These are my problem with ZAVVI at present and would share with you. Need to consider these problem before you place your disc purchase order to them.

Problems:-
1. Shipment was said to be shipped and credit card had been credited....but after waiting more than 2 weeks.........still no mail in (From England to NJ, USA). They said it could take 1 month for delivery oversea. 30 waiting days........new movie become aged movie.........how can we tolerate such long time delay?

2/. Order is not shipped in full..........say your order is for 3 discs.....they shipped 2 and leaving 1 pending. They said the missing one is out of stock from their supplier, no date of re-stock.....need keep waiting when available.........so have to wait and wait without delivery date confirmation,,,,,paid already by credit card,........troublesome if want to cancel for refund.

3/. On line customer service is lousy.

4/. On line sale section shows a movie you want is IN STOCK, after you placed order, they said OUT OF STOCK and need to wait new supply from their supplier. No definite day of shipping to you. When check their website again.......still says IN STOCK. Ridiculous

5/. After placed in purchase order, they emailed there is credit card payment processing failure and cannot charge your card. Ask for update of the card or submit new card number. No success after several updates on line, still said failure. Eventually my credit card is frozen and cannot be used at restaurant and shop. I have to go to the bank to re-activate my card. What a waste of time and effort

I wonder if ZAVVI is using above method to get money paid by credit card from buyers.....delay shipment or even no shipment for over 30 days......until buyers feel frustrated and ask for refund.........by doing so......they have money from buyers payment in advance for 30 days from banks WITHOUT paying interest of the money hey cashed from buyers via their bank's credit card........WOULD this be a SCAM?
You guys to decide...
I have placed order for more than 10 discs from ZAVVI.....total 4 orders. Only received 2 discs so far. 2 x frozen credit cards need to re-activate at banks, outstanding discs has no schedule of delivery whilst payment already made. They cancelled one of my order due to frozen credit card. I just cancel another order due to credit card frozen up the 2nd time. I am not going to place order to them again

Watch out when you place order to them.

Yes, I think both movies are a lot of fun and their 3-D presentations are excellent. The restored three channel stereo sound on It Came from Outer Space is extremely dynamic.

K. Thompson, what a timing exactly..........I just got those 2 x 3d movie from mail this afternoon....exactly wirhin 2 weeks time for delivery. i.e. ordered on 10/7 received 10/20.

Those 2 x 3d/2d movies are MONSTER INC and GIG HERO 6.........my grand daughter will be happy next time she come home to view them. She must go down to the basement to watch movie on my 120 inches diagonal screen........a must upon her grand parents visit. However, she does not like the 3d glasses....which is too big and heavy for her. She stick to 2d viewing instead......but her father prefer 3d and have to watch 2d with his daughter... Sorry for him. Ha!

Have you tried children's 3D glasses ? Maybe your granddaughter will like those better ? I found these:
Passive Circular Polarized: https://www.amazon.com/pairs-Childre...d+glasses+kids
DLP Link: https://www.amazon.com/Compatible-DL...d+glasses+kids
Samsung RF: https://www.amazon.com/CHILDRENS-Com...d+glasses+kids
"Universal Glasses": https://www.amazon.com/Black-Univers...0MTAHHXGEJJVJF

There would be others of course. Can't miss a chance to convert the young

Checked all three recommendations of kid 3d glasses on Amazon just now.......the first one is passive 3d glasses....but not IR which SONY 40ES needs, it does not specified for SONY 40ES either. Other 2 are IR 3d glasses ..... but for Samsung projector....does not specify for SONY 40ES either. Any one know any other brand of 3d Glasses works for SONY40ES - kid usage??

The selection includes duplicate titles reissued with new cover art - including a region free Zootopia/Zootropolis.

I had the winning bid on a Day of the Doctor Dr. Who 3D bluray disk the other day on Ebay for $5.74, including shipping, from Tucson, Arizona.

When I got the disk yesterday, I was surprised to see it was still in the original 3dblurayrental.com sleeve. This is the same outfit I rent disks from.

It was a little scratched up, but it played well enough. Great 3D by the way. No case or art, just the disk and paper sleeve.

I check the 3dblurayrental.com site every so often to see if they are selling any good used 3D disks, but haven't seen any for sale for quite a while. All they have for sale lately is 4K ultraviolet codes.

I guess this Ebay seller must be buying all the 3D bluray disks.

As of yesterday, Target was offering STAR WARS 3D at $24.99 and SUICIDE SQUAD 3D at $20.99. (Best prices I've seen for these two titles)

Their website had the titles at full-price so I assume that the sale is "in-store only." So anyone interested in these titles may want to check it out and see if it's still available at those prices.

I saw a good deal today for a blu ray combo pack, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, parts one and two 3D for $16.14, free shipping, from Tekdeals at Ebay. Looks like they have a bunch for sale, also other 3Ds in their store.

Just search Ebay for Harry Potter 3D and it should pop up at the top of the search results.

I already have part two. Still working on part one, which seems to be more rare and pricey for some reason.
