3d Blu-ray Found Deals

I was using another thread to post deals but it was a really bad way to provide deals to the community. Please feel free to add referral links or whatever. I hope this doesn't break any forum rules.

Go Hastings currently offer 35% off of 3 or more used BDs including 3d. There are a ton of Marvel movies available at really attractive pricing (many sub $10).

To get the discount use promo code: confucius

I wish you all luck. They go fast. I'll keep you updated with more deals as I find them.

I bought 8 3D Blu-rays from them. Spent about $70 after shipping.

In general the Marvel discs did not light my fire at those pricing levels. The reviews of the 3D Marvel movies at Blu-ray.com have not been particularly kind to a variety of them like Thor, Iron Man 3, etc. I already have Guardians of the Galaxy 3D. Some of the used 3D Blu-ray movies were not a deal even with the 35% off.

Not going to argue your points. However, its been nearly impossible to get Marvel titles inexpensively. Heck, you could buy some of them and resell them on eBay for a 40% markup pretty easily.

But the fact that I didn't buy them either should give you a pretty good idea about how I feel about it.

Haven't dealt with GoHastings before.
Can anyone report as to the general condition of 3D Blu Rays ordered through them? With the understanding that mileage varies of course. Packaging typically intact and in good condition? etc.

I haven't bought 3D Blu-rays from them before, but have a few 2D Blu-rays and DVDs. They haven't shown up with any notable scratches or disc damage. I got one DVD from them before that had some sort of defect in it, looked to be inside the polycarbonate layers. It caused playback problems. I sent them an e-mail with a photo and they promptly sent me a replacement disc and didn't want the old one back.

So my first disc arrived from GoHastings. It came with the 3D lenticular sleeve in very good shape. I found two small partial fingerprints on the main 3D disc, but no scratches on it or the special features disc. It it wasn't for the two partial fingerprints (which wiped off easily) and a lack of shrink wrap I would have believed it was brand new.

Hopefully the other 8 arrive in equivalent condition.

Go Hastings is at 40% now with PASSITON when you buy 3 or more used Books, Music, Movies, or Games. Of course most of the 3D Blu-rays are out of stock for shipping.

4 more movies arrived today. Three of them have scratch free discs (all discs). The 4th has a 2D Blu-ray and a 3D Blu-ray. The 2D Blu-ray has some scratches on it, whereas the 3D one was scratch free. Right now, I'm testing the scratched disc in one of my PCs to see if it can be fully read without errors, but it's not looking promising.

Edit: No dice, I've contacted them regarding the scratches.

Hastings is really good about replacing bad disks. They will probably ship a new one out for free.

Amazon.co.uk is doing another B1G1 Disney. It includes:
BIG HERO 6 (currently out of stock but should be back before the sale is over)
Wreck It Ralph
Finding Nemo
Maleficent
Tangled
Monsters U
Beauty and the Beast
Brave
Might be a few more...

should be 2 for ~35

I've order from GoHastings before but on Amazon. I think they ship from Texas if I remember right. Of course there's a Hastings store about 45 mins from me. They have a pretty nice selection of 3D titles in stock but they were all priced at retail. They weren't used but new pricing. Didn't see many used last visit. The other Hastings store I've been to closed their 3D section, said they weren't selling them.

But at full retail I can see why. 3D discs are just way over priced. At Best Buy they had Thor retail for 34.99 and the 2D for 19.99. The 2D is on sale, still when you go north of 25.00 for a movie it gets harder to justify the cost. There's only a few that I can't wait for a used copy I would buy at retail.

This line intentionally left blank.

They sent a prepaid shipping label to return it for a refund. They said they couldn't replace or exchange it.

Doesn't seem to include very many 3D Discs.

Nothing in this posting/signature really means anything in the long run.

Go Hastings is going to end up on my crap list. They're batting 4 for 6 so far.

One of the eight used 3D Blu-Rays I bought was The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 3D from them (used). The listing shows "Blu-ray 3D [4 Discs] [2D/3D] [Blu-ray]". So I get a case with 3 discs, no 2D disc, and the "This Pack Also Includes the 2D Version, Playable on Your Standard Blu-ray Player" has been crossed out on the back artwork with a black permanent marker.

None of these 3 discs are scratched though...

Disc 1:

Discs 2 & 3:

Some custom artwork:

Again, they only offered a return even after I asked for a replacement. Their website shows they still have inventory ready to ship in 24 hours.

The last 2 discs came and GoHastings ended up at like 5.5 out of 8. Another 3D disc came with a somewhat scuffed up DVD in the package, but the 2D and 3D Blu-ray were fine. I polished the DVD up a bit and it seems to play fine and I don't really care much about the DVD so I'm not going to try to return this one.

The BIG1 Amazon.co.uk deal worked for me yesterday and it said it was good to Nov 8th so I think it should still be going. The seller does need to be Amazon.co.uk for it to work.

It was working earlier today when I was testing it out to price out how much they would be after shipping.

Thanks, I guess I just missed it then, but the deal says until Sunday 8 midnight. Did you try it since and did you check the amount besides the shipping? In my case it was the whole price, no discount, so I didn't order.

Thanks for the heads up! I wanted Big Hero 6 since it was released, but have been low on money. I tried ordering from the other sellers on Amazon, but they don't ship to the US. So it is on it's way, now. Free shipping, but they estimate 3 weeks to get here.

Thanks, it turns out that even when ordering from Amazon promotional page it was a third party seller which was automatically selected for both items.

I've ordered making sure the selected seller was amazon, and the discount was applied

So I can confirm the promotion is still working, I just got Monsters Inc. and Wreck It Ralph for £17.99 (in other words, I got the £19.99 Monster Inc for £0.50 thanks to this thread

Thanks a lot guys!

There is a Hastings store near where I live (run by the same company). I have rented and bought many movies from Hastings. The DVDs are usually in good condition and the blu-ray disks I've bought have been in great shape.

Unfortunately, the local Hastings store does not offer in-store pickup of disks purchased online from the parent company.

age of ultron deals at ebay

I was looking for 3D deals on ebay today, and found some "Avengers Age of Ultron" 3D blu-rays on "buy it now" listings for slightly less than $10, including shipping.

There are some tempting auctions there too. Several Ultron 3D disks have sold recently in the $6 to $8 range. Must be a glut on the market.

Mostly these are "3d disk only" sales without all the other disks, digital copies, artwork and whatnot.

Same as the Amazon Disney BOGO. Might be a few $$$ cheaper after shipping.
