Also, I think Don was referring to K8500 UHD player, not KS8500 which is a display.
correct, I have the K8500 UHD player paired with my 2016 LG UH8500 TV

As far as 2017 UHD players, I believe every 2017 UHD player on the market will play 3D media. I know Samsung, LG, Panasonic and Sony 2017 UHD players ALL support playback of 3D bluray media

Saw it last night in the theater. It was a nice upgrade with the remaster. Wasn't a crazy 3d experience though. They forget to apply the filter and the opening scene that takes place in the future battle scene wasn't combined. It looked like it would have been the best scene for it.

Thanks, just pre-ordered it from amazon uk since it isn't being released in the US stores.

A poor US opening for T2 3D. Only 552k compared to 2 and 3 million for Top Gun and Wizard of OZ a few years ago. It's fairing better overseas of course where 3D is more appreciated. UK sales were £442k and showings were sold out. Hopefully rest of world will help boost sales so we can get Aliens in 3D.

This line intentionally left blank.

Up to about a million now domestic sales. Not good. The AMC exclusive showings are hurting this one. I would have seen this one but it's 2.5 hours away. AMC added another weekend, I think this is the last weekend for it. Wouldn't count on Aliens being converted.

Well, personally I would never go to a theater to see a 3D conversion of a movie I've seen at least 10-15 times! It will definitely be added to my film collection though (I've bought this film in basically every home media format except LD ). And I suspect a lot of people feel the same way, hence one of the reason it bombed, perhaps?

I do agree that we seriously need The Abyss on BD like now, and a 3D conversion would be nice. I don't see how 3D could lift Aliens, though.
