Where do you get your 3D content from?

I just bought a BenQ2050 and want to view some 3D, mostly with the kids. Then I realized there aren't a ton of options for 3D content. What does everyone do other than buy the Blu-Ray? I'm in Canada, guessing the rental site in the sticky doesn't ship to Canada.

Kijiji, pawn shops, amazon.ca, used dvd and game shops. I generally don't pay more the $15 for a 3d movie

I am also in Canada

Audyssey is a great start, but not always a great finish.

I buy 3D Blu-rays myself and am also a fellow Canadian. I do buy some used and would recommend beatgoeson.com They have a few stores in Southern Ontario area but they shipped nationwide for i think a $1. Every now and then they will have a 40% off sale where you can get some good deals but only in store. I bought recently a lot of cheap blu-rays from Amazon.co.uk Even after converting from the pound to our buck, you can save big time. They are even cheaper than the american site for shipping, no custom charges and carry a few 3D releases that aren't even available here in N. America. Got myself Frozen and Big Hero 6 in a 2 for $15 (or 20) sale a few months back. Just check to see if they are region free before purchase (Ratatouille is sadly a Region B only release, and not region free as indicated there on the site) So try not to get too addicted to this new habit

I just use my Playstation 4 for my movies. Can also use the PS3 or an Xbox One system, but they don't bitstream the high def audio if you have the setup for it. PS3 does high def audio(minus initial 20GB/60GB launch systems) for the 2D films but can't with 3D films, and the Xbox One will be getting an update soon that will eventually allow it to do so.

Red face

I both rent and buy 3D blurays, but I generally try to not pay more than $7 for purchases, unless it is something I want very badly.

I just recently bought "Monster House" in 3D bluray, and watched it last night. It cost me $4.88, including shipping, on Ebay (sorry, no more for that price, I checked). I also buy once in a while from Amazon.

I bought a used copy of "House of Wax" (1953) in 3D bluray for $4 at a pawn shop. Most pawn shops around here will sell 3D blurays for the same price as 2D blurays, about $4 to $5 per item. But beware of anaglyphic disks, which are not true bluray 3d.

I rent 3D blurays from http://www.store-3d-blurayrental.com/

There is an AVS forum thread here on this particular 3D bluray rental service.

I am on the two disks a month plan, which is a bit more expensive on a per-disk basis, but it is much more convenient for me personally.

I am building up a large collection of 3D blurays, while they are still around.

How do I get an invite? I'd very much like to watch TT3D: Closer to the Edge, but the disc is region B only and I'm in the US so I have no way to watch it. In the US we only have it in 2D on iTunes.

I buy or rent all the media I possibly can, including region-free imports, but sometimes the studios just seem to go to extraordinary measures to block me from giving them money.

Is it really a region B disc, or is that what the box says? Have you stuck it in your player? (A lot of discs may be marked with a region, but the disc itself is actually region free).

We got a bunch of Chinese Blu-Ray players and they played a lot of discs except one of two... The discs we had were all region free and we had forgotten the players were not region A.

A handful of US Amazon reviews for the UK import of this disc indicate that in the US we indeed need a region-free player to play it.

Ohhh thank you! I'd much rather buy this than get it "the other way". I looked into it and it appears to be a whole lifestyle and community. I'm not really up for that, I just want to buy the disc and have it work. So thanks again.

The disc arrived today and I had a bit of a panic because it was marked Region B on the packaging and disc. But it plays fine in my US player.

Great to hear you have it now ...... and plays fine

A lot of discs are like that , and the only way to find out if they play in a different region is to try them out.
