The delivery fee is ~50 bux. I drive a pickup truck and don't want to pay the delivery fee and can fit the tv in it just fine and bring it home, but Frys won't let me. So I found one in stock at the local BB and had them price match Frys. I also got 36 months no interest and double rewards points worth 175 bux. So in the end I paid about 50 bux more than us appliancebut I am sitting next to my new tvthesameday I bought it.

I don't understand how you paid on $50 more when the price at US Appliance is $3697 and you paid $3999 plus tax

He is using the 175 he gets in reward zone coupons as currency to offset the difference

OR! I believe that is the ONLY state that doesn't impose the sales tax. I used to live in WA, and drove back and forth to OR, to evade Sales Tax, Liquor Tax, and TOBACCO TAX!

Someone posted that US Appliance would be getting 80's in today. Can anyone confirm that they in fact did so? The web site still fails to locate these.

Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon have no state sales tax

To see the final price on the US Appliance website:

You have to enter ALL your info, including credit card number, along with its' 3 digit security code, then go to the next screen, then and only then will you see their $1,302 discount, making the final price $3,697. ($4,999 minus $1,302 equals $3,697)

That last page is where you would enter the REAL name and order number for the person who referred you to US Appliance..., then you would click the place order button.

(Perhaps, someone on this or the Owners thread has been particularly helpful to you. If so, a Private Message to them would probably get you the needed Name and order number)...(I sent in fastslappy with my order, I hope he enjoys the $50!)

the US Appliance price is a pain to get to.............
BUT.. it does have a confirm order page after the price page so not to worry about getting all the way thru you can back-out if need be & not commit to buying anything.
so I was worried as well when I 1st checked the price as I was not ready to buy yet . Then they went outta stock & I had to wait 2 weeks before the stock returned & mine is set to deliver on Tuesday. thanx to hdtv4xmas for the referral credit . If anyone order plz get hdtv4xmas info & use him as a referral OR anyone else here on the thread .. all that is needed as a referral is to enter the person order# & their full name
.. I pay it forward .
..Agin thanx to all here @ AVS on the 80" 632 threads for all the informative posts.

Folks,
I ordered by phone on Monday and I got an email confirm with an order number. It looks like they aren't available to call on the weekend.
Does anyone know if USAppliance has an order status page? I don't see one.

Thanks,
Dino

I agree there won't be much native content but I'm sure the TV would upconvert. My main issue would be that I'm not sure if there are standards yet related to 4k. So will the TV be able to show true 4k content when that content is available with some future standard?

I would imagine this would go hand in hand with 3D but even there I think 4K would make more sense in a passive display where you could get a passive picture that doesn't need to split the resolution of the feed (best of both worlds), but Sharp hasn't given any indications that they are moving towards passive.

Will be interesting to follow ....

Your post sums up what I'm thinking. For the first batch of 4k sets for example will it be 4k for each eye for 3D when that software is available? I have an active set but want to move to passive for the brightness factor cheap no battery glases and a larger screen. Still waiting for more information on those things as well as prices for the 4k sets that will be released this year. Sony and others have already announced that they are going passive so I'm standing by for more info.

Well the 844 is already at $5999 at Frys. My guess is that this thing will sell at $5k essentially immediately from places like CP, VE, US-A, etc. $4500 by memorial day?

they will send a shipped status email & then you can track the Display as it moves thru the carrier they pick
my 80" is handled by HomeDirectUSA, they were started by the Moving Co. " Bekins " but now are a company all themselves , they have the best/highest % of Zero claims for damage in the nation . They called me on the house phone ONE working day after the US-Appliance conformation order email to set-up a delivery appointment & gave me a tracking # as well . they are dedicated appliance mover/carrier & that means alot rather than just a FedX or UPS shipment, these guys know how to move large expensive items without damage . I was a once mover/tractor-trailer driver who worked for a high end carrier like these guys (we moved high end servers & Telco Equipment for oil companies, banks ,hospitals) & Yes it does make a difference over a freight carrier on how a Display is handled . Mover's blanket wrap & use air-ride Tractors & Trailers . I can wait the extra days knowing that it's handled better than UPS OR FedX

I have had a total of 16 flat panels since 2005, all delivered by frieght and not one was broken. While it can happen, having things shipped with a proper skid etc really makes a difference. You will be fine ;-)

Where are my fellow Canadians here?

The US has US-Appliance and sites like that. What about Canada, where is the best price for this set. Any info would be great. The lowest I was able to negotiate was at future shop for about $4500.00. Any help would be great guys. thanks

That's a great sign that the more competitive places will be at $5k in no time. Thanks!

It is good that they have placed a low price over MSRP as more places will follow that lead ,it's hoped !

I hear ya. I guess I'll have to keep an eye on this. It's very tempting at $4500 but I still would like to see one in person before purchasing.

Curious to see if they were able to impliment quattron much better with this model. If they have, this may kill the rest of the market for anyone else.

Now one thing I do know......dealer cost.......is just under 4k for an especially large retailer out there :-)
