Fry's has this for $949. Could be lower in store. Shipping & Tax kill it. But Amazon will price match Fry's online price for someone who wants this.

I have one on hold and will try to get the $899 advertised price when I go to pick it up - I was holding out for a deal on a 60" Sharp - but I think this unit will do just fine. My 47" LG is going to my Shop/Garage!

Square Trade Warranty through Costco will be next...

How do you see the Frys price? They say price only shown at final check-out.
Do you have to enter all your credit card info and all?
I am looking at this Panny set too.
The other options are the Visio 3D from Costco or the LG 55LM7600.

Once you log in and in the first check out page, it will show the price. The price now is $999. It was $899 two weeks ago. May want to wait & then PM to Amazon if interested.

Frye's may be $899 if I did it properly, so I may be going for the Amazon price match.

OK I tried to do Amazon price match.
but...Amazon said they had to add $190 shipping to bring the price match to $1088 or basically equal to Amazon price.
I said no good I give up.
A few weeks ago Amazon had it for $1138 plus another small TV at $200 value.
So I will wait for that again.

This is a great tv, received it last week, paid 1185 delivered, colors are great, more natural then the samsung,on par with lg if not better, and LG units are but like crap ! blacks are excellent, best to buy with amazon as they are best with issues that may arise, don`t know much about this fry business, good luck if you go panasonic and post your opinion and setting the colors or issues.

...Yeah I am tired of seeing all the good reviews on Amazon so I think I will proably commit to this before Thxgiving. >>>you should ask for price rebate if you got it from Amazon as it is $1099 or was yesterday, but perhaps you said earlier you paid $1088 right? I do not think the blacks are really deep black (according to CNET and others) but I want the passive 3D for me and my grandkids ASAP.

Me too, but on Sunday. So far I really it like it. Especially for the price. Big upgrade from my 51" RPTV. Was planning to get the 55ST50 but since I am in a bright room and with this price (including 4 glasses) I went with this instead.

at that price i would be leary, make sure its not refurbished , is frys a decent company to buy from, amazon is better to deal with problems or returns,888 seems like a cost price or close to it,only real complaints so far are the speakers, they totally suck ! have mine set on custom, once and awhile you get some movement issues as its not 240 but for the price the picture is very good, more natural looking then the samsung

Amazon price is very close to Fry's + $189 White Glove Shipping.
On-line there is no real advantage from Fry's vs. Amazon. Amazon will match Fry's Price + $189 shipping which saves you maybe $10. AVSForum members on the West Coast can walk into Fry's store and buy it without shipping, but they have state sales tax I assume.

You guys across the pond don't know how lucky you are when it comes to electronic gear pricing.
Just ordered mine in Ireland for €1800 which is around $2,330.

Was available on amazon.co.uk for around €1600, and then a 5 year parts and labour warrant is an additional €350 so €1950,
I got a deal in a local store for €1800 with 5 year parts and labour + free wall mount and free delivery, so not bad for Ireland.

We get seriously screwed for any electronic gear over here.
When buying PC components for example, they just change the dollar sign to euro so we get completely ripped off.
Say a new graphics card is $700, then that is usually €700 where it should be €540.

SUCKS!!

Anyway I think it will be a nice step up from my 6 year old Sony Bravia KDL40w2000 smile.gif

EDIT:-

Actually just noticed the one you linked to is the TC-L55ET5 and mine is the TX-L55ET5B, are they the same panel, just one is European and one is US?

2 MarcusarilliuS: don't forget to post your impressions, there's a definite lack of ET5 reviews at the forum.
I wonder whether there are more advanced picture settings options in EU model compared to US.

Was just looking and I think they are the exact same tv.
I will definitely post my impressions when it arrives mate.

I got a phone call from the shop today and the guy said do you want the good or the bad news...
He said it arrived in the country today but the box was damaged during transit, so the warehouse sent it back and ordered another, so have to wait another week.

Such is life smile.gif

...when the time comes, believe there is now an official owners thread for this TV.
There is some discussion that the over-seas version may have more picture quality controls than US version.

Can't believe this..

Got another text today with a picture of a badly dented box and was informed that the delivery that arrived today (second attempt at delivering it) was damaged so badly, that they had to once again send it back.
Told me I'd have to wait yet another week for my tv now.

I kinda lost the plot at this point and said to get on to the suppliers, and if they can't expedite the delivery this time and get it here in one piece, I will cancel the order from them and go with amazon.
He got on to them and then back to me and said he can have it in the country by tuesday and to my by wednesday.
I said ok, but if it is damaged again I want my money back and I will buy elsewhere.

This is ridiculous. Been waiting over 2 weeks now for the tv.
The real stinger was that 20 tv's arrived in the shipment today and it was only mine that got damaged.

Murphys law.

Not happy frown.gif

This tv MSRP was listed for higher than the tv I had and now it's $400 dollars lower than the tv I bought? That's incredible.
