What I have read from the forums is,

7600 is 240Hz while 6700 is 120Hz.

7600 has black bezel while 6700 silver.

Both seem to have local dimming.

Both are glossy screens.

Is 7600 worth the extra money.

I am not going to use it for gaming, so higher refresh rates not useful.

Is 8600 a matte screen?

Personally I would go for the 7600. That being said B&M Frys's are selling the 6700 55" this week for $999. A lot of people matched the price at Sears (+10% price difference) or bestbuy. At that price it is hard to argue with. I believe the 7600 is $1399 which is also competitive when compared to Amazon etc.

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, I got the 6700.
999+ tax.
Could not pass this deal which is 40% cheaper, and I like the silver bezel.
I also picked up a Pioneer AV receiver for $75.

I just picked up the 6700 and used an old tilt mount from my 6 year old Panasonic 42". I just used the screws from the back of the new LG to secure the mount rails to the back of the TV. The screws were so tiny compared to the screws that fit into my old Panasonic.

Is this OK? Are the screws from the back of the LG intended to be used for mounts? Also, the manual says something about inner spacers - I assume these are the spacers on the screw? The manual says to put these between the TV and the mount, rather than between the screw head and the mount? Which side of the mount should these be on?
