Back down on Amazon to about $1400 (total including shipping), and fulfilled by Amazon. I'm guessing that this will start a tumble throughout this week due to CES, but I could be wrong.

BTW, If a low price is on Amazon, I won't mention it UNLESS it's sold or fulfilled by them. The return policies from the regular marketplace vendors are always terrible and just not worth the risk.

Once again, I have to suggest that you avoid Adorama. Their return policy requires that you test the thing out fully *before* signing or else you accept the device "as is". Avoid that.

In any case, Amazon is now back to roughly $1399 + $15 (fulfilled by Amazon). That's a farrrrrrrrrrrr safer bet if you can't use adorama to price-match.

I just ordered this LG from Amazon yesterday. It appeared, on their site, that it was IN STOCK and Fulfilled by Amazon. When the tracking info arrived, it is shipping from their vendor in INdiana???? WTF? I sent them a request to clarify their IN STOCK statement. I would have ordered from Pauls TV via Amazon if I had known it was being shipped from some 3rd party and not Amazon. They should really clarify that process.
I believe Pilot or Compass is the shipper and I am waiting for a phone call to set up a delivery time next week.

Contact Amazon IMMEDIATELY. If it's not fulfilled by Amazon, it's very possible it'll directly impact your ability to return a defective item. Note, their terminology might have changed. "Fulfilled by Amazon" used to mean that Amazon themselves warehoused and shipped it. Beats me how that was supposed to work frankly. Now, it might be some grayer area where it ships from the vendor's warehouse, but using the Amazon return policy. I honestly don't know. But contact them NOW, not later, and I mean the moment you read this. No one wants to be burned by accident.

Since I am in the 90 day window I might pack the LM6400 up and exchange it for the 6700.

Mea culpa. I thought the topic was the LM6700.

I just picked this up at bestbuy last night. With 24mo no interest financing, figured I'd give it a shot. I wasn't sure if the price matching to amazon was only during the holidays but after seeing the drop to 1399.99 and best buys 1599.99, I'd at least ask. The rep said they would price match and when he returned (from looking at the site) he asks me if $1247 was the price, I confirmed!

So $1100 financed (after $240 Xmas gc's and $10.30 cash).

I imagine the rep saw the amazon warehouse used price.

If it's going on your wall, and if you just can't seem to find it anywhere for lower (and have crummy price luck like I do in my area), there's a used one from the Amazon warehouse that has only:
  • minor cosmetic damage on the back
  • minor cosmetic damage to the stand

Neither of which matter if you're going to wall mount it. You don't now if these were the reasons or not. You of course don't get to buy a long warranty, nor do you really know what the real reason for returning it was (but cosmetic damage is enough).

It's for this.

I got mine on sale at Futureshop for $1400. Hard to get a good deal in Newfoundland here. We don't get a huge amount of
high end high tech anything, it's kind of get it while you can before it's gone lol

But I love my 55LM7600

$1199 at Fry's brick & mortar right now (at least in Renton, WA). Took a look at it last night. Rep said the last day of the sale is today. Trying to decide if I'm going to bite or try to find a Sony HX850 instead.

Don't get me wrong, I love the 7600, I really do, but if you can deal with the active 3D then the HX850 should be substantially better. I've seen both, and the higher end Sonys always win the overall PQ battle IMO.

Amazon fulfilled / $1347.99 / prime

Prices continuing to tumble, as predicted by many. (It's feb. LG recently told one AVS member that their new line was coming out mid-march. An LG rep told a different AVS member that the prices for the 60LM7200 weren't going to change until Feb 13th. So all this makes sense. 2012 selling lower and lower.

Now the info I'm supplying applies to the 60LM7200 which I just ordered but I imagine there should be a substantial reduction in the 7600 as well:

For all those intrested.......I decided upon this model after much research and debate but was fustrated at the $1699 price and mostly only available from bestbuy......HOWEVER!!............I checked PC Richards site and they DON'T have the model listed.......but went with my gut feeling and called anyway and asked if they could get it, or order it. Much to my surpise they said they could order it and for.........wait for it..........$1499!!! The down side is I have to wait 2 weeks for it to be shipped to my local PC Richards in New York but hey.........$200 dollars is $200 dollars!!! Now I don't know if this is a limited presidents week sale or if this is a permanent reduction in price. And as much as I can't wait to get the 60LM7200 I'll wait 2 more weeks to save the dough.........best buy would match it but they can't find a visual representation from PC Richards showing they are selling it for $1499, otherwise they would match it. But PC ordered it through their internal supply database and don't have the reduced price reflected on their website. Hope people can take advantage of it.

Are you sure they didn't get confused? The $1499 is what they're advertising for the 55lm7600 on their site now.

I know......they have the 55" (55LM7600) for $1499 AND the 60" (60LS5700) 120hz for $1499 but I'm looking at my receipt for the one I ordered and I know what I got the: 60LM7200.....the same one that's at bestbuy for $1699. So they're selling a 60" LG at 120 and 240hz AND the 55" (55LM7600) all for the same price......it's crazy!!! All I know is I saved $200 on the model I wanted.....

My 4yr old Sammy died and I'm on the hunt for a LG 55LM7600. Best price I can find is Best Buys $1499. I would have thought the price would be much lower by now with the 2013 tv's being released very soon. Not sure if I can wait any longer...

I am waiting for something of LG to price drop. I just bought the 55lm4600 but looking to return it for either the 55lm6700 or 55lm7600. Looks like every TV is price dropping except these LGs! Good thing for 90 day returns at Sam's Club.

Picked up the LG 55lm6400 from Sam's Club last night. Came to $1170 after tax. Just need to see the 7600 hit this price delivered within the next 90 days and I will be all over it. The 6400 has a great picture so would be okay with keeping it in the end but if I can score a 7600 for the same price it would just be a given.

Wouldn't it be interesting if the dyn contrast and frame rate differences between the 7600 and the 6700 (etc.) are actuallly self-imposed crippling of the same exact panel. IOW, that someone might trip on the back-door setting that bumps it's PQ up dramatically.

Well supposedly the 7600 is a true 120hz panel unlike the 6700 which is 60hz. But seeing LGs tactics who knows what the truth is.

The 7600 has to hit a sale price under $1200 eventually. I hope. I keep seeing all these other TVs slashing prices and only the 47 inch LGs. Where are the 55 inch LG deals!

Well, here's the rub of my question:

I'm wondering if they could cripple the 120Hz panels with either hardware or firmware to allow only 60Hz. Further, couldn't they also add hardware to the panel to lower it's native contrast by hampering the low-end signals sent to the subs?

I'm not sure this qualifies as dishonesty on their part. However NOT being clear about the 120 vs 60 thing is a little odd IMO: that's a different type of misdirection.

So when the say "xHz panel", I'm wondering how much of that is truly the upper limit. See what I'm asking?

Just got mine for $1140.00. thats elevenhundredfortydollars!
It was a display, so i got it with the 5 year BB 100% coverage warranty for an extra $199.00

Total with 5 year complete warranty was $1340.00

Only thing its missing is the stand (which they gave me $120 wall mount for $60.00 to mount it).

So I took it home in bubble wrap and mounted the bad boy on my wall. let me tell you it is bar far the best TV I have ever owned in my life!
The 3D is awesome and so is the 2D HD. I cant say enough about this set, even the dam speakers sound great! This thing is like an inch thick and for how slim it is you really do get pretty good sound. Even though I hooked mine up to a Sony sound bar with sub (which i got on sale for $99.00).

Sooooooooo happy with this set. My only problem is really i don't have enough time to watch it as I would like, I'm ready to quit my job, become a bum who just sits in from of the TV all day until they come take my house smile.gif. That's how much i love watching this thing. My "sons 3D animated movies" (he is 15 months but I have to believe he appreciates the 3D) are INCREDIBLE to watch. Megamind, Wreck it Ralph, The Hobbit 3D! All freaking amazing. I also got Prometheus, Monsters Inc and a bunch more 3D movies when i got this, I kind of went crazy but with this TV its a great place to be smile.gif

Got mine for $1199 at Frys. Great TV so far. Had to do the software update via USB flash drive but it is current now. Looking forward to trying a few different calibration settings.
