As the title states. You always here that the best deals are normally just before the super bowl. But I didn't think anything exceptional was seen. What do the rest of you think?

There were some good deals, but not necessarily exceptional. Fry's had a 60" LG plasma for $699, and Costco had the Panasonic 55" UT50 plasma for $749. And the 50" UT50 was $699, and the 50" U50 was $599. And the Samsung 51' E550 plasma went down to $699. And there were some good LED deals, considering price history, but not really exceptional.

Thought the deals were after super bowl. I seen a similar deal at Frys, Panasonic TC-L55ET5 55" Class (54.6" Actual Diagonal Size) 1080p 120Hz Smart LED with WiFi.

Nothing great. But some decent ones. The Panny UT50 deals listed above.

Panny 55" ET5 LED for $959 on Amazon, and then $899 on Frys.com is what I ended up getting. Ordered from Amazon and got the price adjusted to $899. Actually started with the 55" UT50 for $850 from Amazon, but sent it back for buzzing and IR.

I'm guessing since the economy is doing better and consumer spending is up that retailers didn't feel as much pressure to really have crazy deals on name brand models this Black Friday or Super Bowl period as the deals didn't seem as notable as in recent years.

Nothing great. And I think that the manufacturers are tacitly colluding here.

Just my black helicopter moment folks. Nothing to see here. Move on. LOL....
