I wonder if this is a tactic to make a subsequent discount seem truly spectacular. Here's their price history----you decide. October was the last massive drop: perhaps vaguely related to the pre-BF deals? Dunno.

You might find this interesting.

Beware the statistical correlations that sound like they're indicative of something. Drowning deaths are tightly correlated to ice cream consumption. In fact, be wary of any statistic that is stated as if it comes with a self-evident conclusion: there is no such thing.

I think what you are seeing is that these are now in short supply. So some places have dropped the advertised prices and now show the full "retail" price or "list" price of the sets. Inventory is dwindling on these sets.

In early to mid March, the supply of 2012 models is low but 2013 models are not yet widely available. So this is a good time to jack up prices.

Yeah, except that now they're back to their [seemingly timeless] $1500 price tag.

{shrug}

I've been waiting for the LM7600 to drop in price, while the Samsung ES8000 have dropped by $700 in the last 2 weeks. I was torn between those 2 tvs. Now that the ES8000 has dropped to around $1800, I'm going into Best Buy today to see how the active shutter affects my eyes. I tried it with the ES7100 and the ES7500 and it was bothering me. I'm hoping it improved in the ES8000
