VIZIO E701i-A3 70-inch 1080p 120Hz Razor LED Smart HDTV ($1598, $1578 w/Prime) @ amazon

Normally $1699, hasn't been at this price for a while. I've been waiting for a price drop, it dropped $100 today.

Y'all think now is a good time to buy this unit? Any idea if the price will drop within the next month?

Thanks.

Picked this up at Costco yesterday for $1579 (plus 2% cash back with my costco AmEx card). It's replacing a 50 inch LG plasma. The other set I was considering was the Sharp 657U (for 20% more money). I liked the LG but it had big glare issues (the Vizio has a relatively matte-like screen while the LG is a mirror). Plus, due to some remodeling work, our great room can now handle a 70 inch set. Picture is great so far, although there is a relatively narrow sweet spot for viewing. I notice washout if I get more than about 25-30 degrees off center.

Do wall mount screws come with the TV?

There are four cosmetic screws that fill the mounting holes. Based on the number of turns it took to remove them, I would never consider using them to mount the TV (way too short). Just go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy four M6 x 20MM bolts for a couple of dollars. You very likely will also want to pick up some washers for the bolts because the back of the set isn't perfectly flat and I needed to use the washers to stand the mounting bracket off from the back of the set. This might vary depending on the type of mount you're using.

HI everyone,

I am a noob at this so sorry if I have dumb questions....

I just picked this TV up and mounts and every cable under the sun...also added the Vizio 5.1 soundbar with wireless rear speakers via subwoofer.

I am taking this week to do all drilling, carving and snaking through walls and hope to have a great end result.

My question is regarding the Vizio Costar which I currently use. It works great with my Toshiba(52in) but now that I am setting up the TV that has built in Apps....I am a little worried about any issues (multiple seem to be duplicate remotes, Interfaces (which one to use).

Should I not use wireless on the TV and dedicate the Costar or vice versa?

I know...alot....but if someone out there has the same setup, maybe I can get some advise...

Jaime
:)

Welcome Jaime. AVS is the best place I know of for TV info. And, if there is a more active forum for consumer electronics I haven't ran across it yet.
