Does anyone have any speculation on what might happen to the VT30 model as Christmas nears? I'm asking anyone based on past experience from last year with the VT25.

After re-reading I can see my post wasn't very clear.

I guess I'm asking if anyone who who was looking at prices for the VT25 last year noticed a price drop around Christmas time. I know retailers often offer good prices for TV's around Christmas, just wasn't sure if that was true for Panny's flagship consumer model.

If you're looking for a big drop then I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

PC Richards is running a Employee Pricing sale right now until Wed and a 50"GT30 can be had for $1034 before tax. They have extremely low prices on just about everything in the store. I can't imagine the sets (ST,GT,VT)selling for much lower than what PC Richards is currently selling them for, even on black friday.

I helped setup my buddy's 50" GT30 and out of the box the picture was really nice, much better blacks than what I can achieve with my 50" G10. I can't wait to pick mine up on Wed when the next shipment arrives.

Wait and watch. It could go down more than the $200 in a few hours or a day or so.

I add things I want to my cart, and save for later. I get notices for price changes whenever I check it. Sometimes just having it sit in your cart will make the price move one way or the other.

FWIW I bought my 50VT25 for 1800$ last December "boxing day" (our equivalent to black Friday which comes after Christmas) and it included the BDT100 player, 3 X 3D movies(Avatar, Coraline, Ice Age), extra pair of 3D glasses and a 3 year Panasonic (not store) warranty.

I would imagine US pricing to be even cheaper, of course.
