Would consider a 55VT30, but a bit beyond my budget. And I do know they don't seem to have many 50GT30s still available. Was looking for a clearance deal approaching Superbowl, but doesn't seem to be happening this year. Last year, they had an abundant supply of 50GT25s they cleared out at Fry's and Costco for $899 or less. The last good price this year was $974 for the 50GT30 on Black Friday weekend. May have to hold out for a 50GT50, but will be a bit of a wait until holiday prices come around again. Does Fry's even have any 50GT30s still available? The website doesn't seem to indicate so, even instore. And haven't had a chance to drive 2hrs to Ga to check out Fry's or Brandsmart in person. Still looking.

Wow...okay. I thought release was farther off. Well, I'm considering buying used from Amazon Warehouse. It comes with the Manufacture's warranty and a 30 day return policy. Any knowledge or experience dealing with them? I'm having a hard time finding a new ST30 at a low price.

**Edit: Used Panny's get no manufacturer's warranty

I have not, but Amazon is great with returns...I assume the same with used models. Just make sure there is no burn-in, bad uniformity (common on this year's models), etc.

I did the same thing yesterday. Although I can get the 65VT30 slightly cheaper ($200 off for Amazon Visa holder), Amazon does not offer the 36-month financing along with the discount. Trying to do price matching seems like too much work over the phone.

Now I just hope that I will get a good build date.

Just an FYI, they do not allow for returns after delivery.

Also, does "full manufacturer's warranty" really mean they are an authorized dealer?

I called them once asking some questions and the person I spoke to was somewhat rude. I just didn't get a good vibe about this place.

I'm ready to get one too. Shopping now. Had previously dealt with Chris @ Cleveland Plasmas, but this Amazon price match scenario looks great (should it come up again).

Following this thread closely.

I have been watching this thread as well since it last month but missed the US Appliance - Amazon price match.

I am ready to pull the trigger on a 65Vt30 as well and hopefully new deals show up soon.

My worry is that the supply runs short/out before the ~$2500 i am looking to get it for even happen

That link is scary. If I'm spending that much on a high quality TV, I want the option to return and not be stuck with it. Obviously, they can afford to lower their prices when they do not accept returns after the delivery. Not much costs to eat. So, do you take a chance? I wouldn't. I would much rather spend a few hundred more dollars to guarantee satisfaction, or play the waiting game. Which I have played for too long now...

Yeah, great price. I would buy it in a second if they had a good return policy. I wonder if Paul's will match this price. I doubt it but I'm going to give it a try. I'm back on the VT after playing the waiting game on another set. (Sharp 70). I think Plasma is the way to go at this point.

I know one thing guys, the TC-P55VT30 are just about gone forever All Panasonic models are drying up. We are down to our last suppliers who have them on a few different Panasonic units. It looks like there is going to be a BIG dry spell before the new units hit

Called Amazon today. Told them I saw on a forum that they were price matching a TV from Fry's for $1,699.00, and if they would do that for me, then I would buy a TV today. They asked me for the model#, and said yes they would match.

They didn't ask me to do anything else. The Fry's in my state were out of stock, so I couldn't have bought one.

I have a new 55VT30 coming my way. No tax. No shipping charges.

All because of this forum. Thank you!

Thanks for the info. That's in essence what I was trying to tell these guys.

i have been following this thread for some time, and it has been very enlightening and helpful. Thanks. However, when I tried to pull the trigger in California today, Amazon said that they couldn't match Frys because the latter only offered store pick up and not delivery! So it looks like I'll either have to bite the bullet and pickup from Frys or wait on another online source that ships. Drat!

Just keep calling back until you get a rep that agrees to match it. It seems that's the avenue a few people have taken and have been successful. Worth a shot!

So, is frys really offering the 55 at this price? Im shopping for the vt30. Can i call and say frys is offering it at $2500 and theyll bite? Thats what it sounds like but im sure they will try and verify. My goal is to get the vt30 at or around $2500 before stock dries up.

I'm really torn between getting the 55VT30 or the 60GT30. Sounds like I better make up my mind soon before all the VT's are gone from stock.

Don't waste your time. Unless you get a rep that doesn't like their job and are willing to break the rules, Amazon will not a)price match any local retailers b)price match anyone not on their list of web retailers c)price match any item not bought AND fulfilled by them

I just called and tried to price match a fry's deal as well as a non-listed web retailer deal. no go. just gotta wait til the price drops.

Look on page 6 of this thread at posts #'s 152, 156, & 169. I followed the lead from those posts and it worked. Yesterday..... I just called and gave them the price of $1,699 for the TC-P55VT30 at Fry's. The guy did a little checking and said yes we can match that. No shipping charges. No white glove matching cost. No tax. No nothing!!

$1,699 delivered and I did it yesterday. Keep trying.

Just found what I was looking for. A competitor (amazon listed) has the 65" VT30 for $2799 shipped. I think I'm gonna order it!!

Hang up and call back. You will get a different CSR and may get it pushed through. In reading these threads it seems as this strategy often pays off.

I'll try again but I'm seriously considering just paying the tax and picking this up today locally! ($3,025.72 OTD w/30 day price match) I can have it tonight and if there are any problems can deal with it without shipping hassles. (although Amazon is great with shipping, they are letting me down with this "you gotta pay for shipping" policy)

To be fair, you don't have to pay shipping if you pick up locally from Fry's, so it's not really fair to insist that Amazon match the price AND pick up the tab for shipping...

Yeah, I'll give them that. I guess it's fair.

I also called Best Buy, who will match Fry's and add a 60 day price match. If this set doesn't go down in price in 60 days, I'll eat my shorts. This is the best deal I've found ATM.

*The only thing with BB is they only match local retailers. Something to keep in mind. It seems Fry's will match online retailers as well but for only 30 days. Everything has it's catch.
