Returned my new Samsung 55D8000 LED TV for the Plasma series instead, got the PN59D8000 in store for $1899, he said would do $2499 on the PN64D8000 model, but I was afraid the 64" would barely fit in my custom built-in wall, would only allow for like 1/4" - 1/2" clearance on the top, super tight fit.

BB will deliver on Friday. So tempted to get that 64", bit is $600 more, and the size just might not work in my spot.

FWIW, I was able to talk them down to their cost for the 64 when I bought mine on 1/30, which for BB is $2,356+tax.

That is a very good price. I am so tempted.

By the way, how do you like your set ?

That is an amazing price over what they are listing the sale price for online. Did the sales associate give you a price on the PnD7000 set at all?

I am curious as I have been watching the prices continually rise on Amazon and tend to be more interested in the 7000 model.

The PN7000 in the 59" size he said could do like $1700 or so, did not ask about the 64" 7000.

But for like $2399 the 64D8000 sure sounds tempting, but would be a very tight fit on the clearance height, leaving only a 1/2" at most between the top of the tv, and top of the cabinet.

Love the size, love the picture - hate the buzzing. I'm on my second set since buying. This current panel also has brightness pops, but I have downloaded the fix and will take care of that today. I am considering returning it and getting an LED since the wife can't live with the buzzing. Again, it has a beautiful picture, it's just the buzz that may be the deal-breaker.

Well I just upgraded to the 64" model ( $2399 ), BB will deliver Monday. My Samsung 55" LED ( $1932) I am exchanging was way to small for my Great Room / Kitchen. We sit back about 12', and from the Kitchen island we sometimes watch TV is about 18' away off on an angle.

Hope I am not making a mistake, going from the LED to Plasma ? I was just unhappy with the off angle viewing on the LED, and the cloudy picture on dark scenes, and watching Hockey games looked great on the LED, but almost too bright or blinding to my eyes, even on darker settings, the white was so bright at night time it almost hurt my eyes, had to squint for a second or so first time looking at it.

Afraid of the buzzing sounds people are complaining about, and the pealing screen Crosses fingers I like this 64" Plasma over the 55" LED.

Doubt it. The D8000 is a gorgeous set. Viewing angles and motion handling will be far superior. Do get an extended warranty if your concerned. Not sure which is best so look around. If my budget was a little higher I would buy same set.
