I caved and bought it at Amzn for $3399 with delivery next week. I now need to figure the full-motion wall mount/bracket. By the way (and I am not going to regret now), a colleague just shared this link with me:

Well, I called ElectExpo and Amazon yesterday, and got Amazon to match the EE price.

So here's my question: Should I buy from Amazon or EE ?

I'm going to choose today, so if you have an opinion please reply.

(Also, I get conflicting reports - does the 65VT50 come with 3D glasses or not? Panasonic's web site says 1 Pair, posts all over the 'net
say none - who here bought th 65VT50 and can tell me definitively?)

THANKS!

BTW - This is the wall mount I'm going to use - does anyone see any problems with it?

So my Amazon price match saga has ended.

I called last Friday and the CSR couldn't access the EE website. I ended up taking a screen shot and emailing it to her. She told me that the price would remain the same even if the inventory status or price changed. She failed to get it approved until Monday afternoon.

So it turned out that Amazon starting charging tax in Texas on Sunday, a $200 difference. I only had 24 hours to act on the price match, so I purchased the TV. I wrote the CSR a few emails about this and yesterday received a notice that they will be refunding the difference. Yet another positive experience with Amazon and a 65VT50 on its way for under ~$2835.

East Cost TV has it in stock for 2823 and you get another 2% off using the code PAYCHECK for a net of 2766 including free shipping. I didn't look into what kind of shipping that is. But it's a reputable place from what I understand.

Getting close to pulling the trigger. I think 2500 is not too far off...

Stuck up, half witted, scruffy looking, nerf herder.

I ordered the Sanus XF228-B1. That was the only full motion wall mount that felt like a rock. Based on other reviews, I might still have to swap some of its hardware from Home Depot. Also ordered the Dish installation at Amzn.

@Whoit - no, it doesn't come with 3d glasses. I don't even have a 3d blu ray player; had to buy new standard hdmi cables with audio return, ethernet, etc.

Honestly if it was me I would hands down order from Amazon. I just have more faith in them and think if something went wrong they would be more accommodating and be easier to work with. Let us know who you end up going with and how it goes though.

Amazon will not price match unless the item comes back in stock and the price shows on the website.

For now we'll have to wait till another designated site provides a lower price or the item is back in stock at EE and it shows up on their website again.

I had a couple people request this screen shot. I don't think it will work if the item is not currently in stock, but you never know. It really all depends on the CSR you get. Good luck.

Yeah, I had a guy yesterday quote me the prices from Amazon, had the match all setup, and like an idiot I wanted to wait. Called back in today, and Amazon won't touch ElecExpo since they're on backorder (even though they were on backorder yesterday too - same guy !)
ElecExpo's price is $2552 + $210 shipping to Florida....not bad. If I order now I could expect delivery around the 20th. Still considering it....

What is the best price anyone has gotten on a 65VT50 from Best Buy? Will they price match Amazon?

Indecision may or may not be my problem.

Got in in the MD/DE area for 2800 from best buy. picked up from DE so no tax. The reason why I went with BB was their black tie protection, which happens to be the only aftermarket warranty that covers burn-in. Got their 4 yr warranty for 499, and they threw in 2 pair of 3d glasses for free - not actually free but you know what I mean. Anyone who knows to drive a bargain can prolbably walk into any BB and request a 2800 price point. I have tried this strategy, and that mark is the lowest they go. G'luck!

Sweet! Could you PM how you did this. I'm not usually one to "drive a hard bargain" but if I could get one at that price it would save me from all the headaches of trying to decide between the GT and VT. I am going to have to purchase from BB since I already have a BB card and need the financing. Thanks!

Indecision may or may not be my problem.

PM me your email address. I can send you the receipt electronically. Take it to the nearest BB, talk straight to the manager, say that you are willing to buy on the spot if they price match --- then hold your breath smile.gif

$2800 with or without tax? Tax here is almost 10% so for me that wouldn't be that great of a deal as opposed to getting it for close to $2500 from amazon (no tax)

without tax. for me however since I got it from delaware I had no tax to pay. Total out of pocket (including the non existing tax) was 3299 for the TV with 4 yr black tie and 2 pairs of 3d glasses. Around 2500 from Amazon is achievable with some luck and skill, however the lack of a 'burn in inclusive' aftermarket warranty is too great a risk for me to take, hence my decision to stick with BB.

I just got of the phone with Electronics Expo and the guy said that they would be expecting TVs to be coming in this thursday (the 65" VT50) and he quoted me a price of $2769.99 including shipping. Sounds like a good deal. Granted, the lowest you can get right now would be $2728.32 from East Coast TVs, I really wish EE didn't have to charge the $209 shipping. They'd have the best deal in the house then.

Found that Power Seller NYC website is currently selling the TV for $2800 + shipping.

Are they a reputed seller?

PowerSellerNYC sells refurbished open box units as new. Look at their selection of products, they are passing off tvs that are more than 3-5 years old as new in box. They also have an atrocious return policy with crazy restocking fees.

Thanks!!

I had a very quick look at their site last night and wasn't sure if they had a showroom. It is tough to beat amazon's reputation as an online seller and your feedback on their return policy + restocking fees makes me steer clear of them.

Thanks again!
