More than 1 person actually...I am fairly interested in knowing this as well...I could potentially bite.

Still looking for the perfect TV...

but if you're looking for a 'bigger' TV then maybe the 65" VT50 would be a good choice...still would be a tough choice for me though

65 would be too big for my setting! I am hoping D Nice can make to Saint Louis soon to see if my 500m is able to receive his black level tweak. I'm in no hurry to get anything new. The Sharp elite and oled sets are way out of my price range. I'd rather get a plasma and pocket the rest! How are liking your calibrated Vt30? If something were to happen to my 500m, I would either be getting a Gt50 or Vt50.

I'm liking the VT30 a lot...in the beginning there was a major issue with fluctuating brightness but Panasonic corrected that with an A-Board replacement...later firmwares improved the color luminance issue as well...overall I'm now very happy with it post-calibration...the only issue I have is that there seems to be a bit of image retention (I watch ESPN HD a lot and the logo is very faint on the bottom right but only noticable with an all white background)...the VT50 is definitely better then my VT30...I guess the question is if it's enough of an improvement to warrant the upgrade for me

I heard about the black level tweak on the Kuro's...sounds nice...would make it even harder to give up the set

You need to have Sears discount through your work to get that price. Then need to have it on sale also

BB's price of $2199 seems respectable but there's such a price hike to 65. is the 65VT50 gonna be one of those tvs that we have to wait till the end of year/next year to see significant price drops?

The TCP65VT50 can be purchased, at latest date, for $2,801.31 plus $139.59 shipping on the www.nextdaypc.com website. They say they will be having a large shipment arrive around May 21st. I am not a retailer, just a consumer, and came to this website through the bing.com search engine.

Apparently you meant the TCP65VT50 rather than TCP65VT30 for $3699.99. Right?

BBY has it for 2200 and you get 45 bucks back in gift checks. Not to mention free in home pick up and 30 days on returns. If you do a BBY card you and pay it off right away you get 90 bucks back instead.

Is that best buy price still good, or did it end yesterday?

Bestbuy price is $2499

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Panasoni...VT50&cp=1&lp=1

Maybe $2200 was a limited time offer.

It has always been 2499 online. The 2199 has been in store only for the last two weeks.

What's the best price everyone is seeing for the 65 inch?

I got a killer deal on a GT50 when they first came out from a local electronics store, they are telling me they won't have then VT50's in untill July still.

I'm going to purchase online this week, where is everyone getting the 65's from?

BB in Arlington Hts, IL. Very happy with the service I got from them on my 65VT50. They even called there delivery warehouse when I paid for my VT50 on Friday, and got them to add me to there Saturday delivery (already full).

The only problem I had was with the 3D glasses, took them back the next day and even had the store manager wanting to make sure I didn't have any more problems.
There is something to be said buying a huge TV like mine locally.

What price did you pay and what was wrong with your glasses?

The 55VT50 is currently showing backordered on Panasonic (expected ship May-June), does anyone have a more firm date?

Also, this may seem a little odd, but does anyone know if Panasonic charges your card the day you place your order or the day it ships?

Thanks.

I went to a local appliance store that sells most TV brands. They only had the ST series in stock. When I inquired about the 65VT50 they said they won't stock them, but they will order it. At first they offered to sell it at $3200. They couldn't tell me how long it would take to order it and when I went to leave they lowered their offer to $2930. So it looks like this TV can be purchased for under $3000. I may go back and order it if I can't find it at another store. I prefer to make this kind of purchase at a local store.

Been there, tried that - "Sears Commercial" replied that they do not carry that set and suggested buying gift cards at a 5% discount. That don't bring the $3600 price low enough even without considering they charge shipping and tax.

And what "local appliance store" are you referring to?

The local appliance store tht sells TV's likely purchases all of its appliances and TV's through a much larger buyers/distribution group. They likely figure that it is better to make a few dollars on a sale of a 65VT50 (that they know absolutely nothing about), than have the customer walk out the door and go elsewhere.
