Thanks,

If you buy from an unauthorized retailer, you will be buying an unwarranted product. Panasonic WILL NOT COVER repairs on a product bought outside of their approved retailer list. You may save a few bucks up front on the purchase, but if the TV breaks you'll foot the entire repair bill yourself. It's a roll of the dice. Personally, I wouldn't be willing to take the risk.

I've heard horror stories of folks buying a $3,500 65VT50 only to have an issue and it was NOT covered under warranty because they bought from East Coast TV's or another "unauthorized dealer". Crazy to go that route, in my opinion... besides the house and car, this has got to be one of the more expensive items we buy, I wouldn't risk it.

By the way, give Cleveland or Paul's a call and they will come very close to matching those prices you see out there. But this way you get EXCELLENT customer service, fast delivery, AND all of it from an authorized dealer!

If you are in need of the new RF Active Shutter 3D glasses... I found these online... 6 pair for $115!!! Gonna order them for my 55VT50. Made by Dimensional Optics

http://axison.info/store/2012-panasoniccompatible-3active-3d-glasses-rechargeable-megapackdimensional-opticsa1s01278gd5a1s01278gd5_p5582.html

Got too excited... even tho the sight shows you can use Pay-Pal - the only option when you go through check-out is a Bank wire transfer... Not even gotta attempt that!!!

You can purchase the 6-pack directly from Dimensional for $300 - thats not bad... I think the Pany glasses on Amazon are around $50/each. The Dimensional glasses feature a nice storage case and USB cable for each pair plus 4 wall-outlet/USB chargers.

While talking to many audio professionals and to a few Panasonic represenatives, they have told me that the company will stop letting 3rd party companies sell there Plasmas and other high end gear, which will force us consumers to deal dirctly with Panasonic or with a professional audio specialist. So get the deals while you can.

On another note, Panasonic is working on eliminating there 3, 4 or 5 year warranty upgrades on the high end products that they carry.

Peace to all. wink.gif

I had to create an account, then I went through the process. I didn't, however, order the glasses, because I have a few pairs already.

Nope... when I get to the Payment Option page, it just automatically shows Bank Wire Transfer with no other options to choose - weird!

I just tried it again, and now it's a bank wire transfer only option like you're experiencing. Very strange. Furthermore, did you see the bank to which you're sending payment? The Bank of China! Yeah, right.

BTW, did you see the shipping charges? The cheapest one was ~ $37.00!

Anyway, remember the old cliché of "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."

A 6-pack is $299 = $49.83/ea - but they look to me much nicer than the Panasonic ones. They have nice thick side blinders to block light - nice cases that have the USB cables stored inside - plus you get 4 wall-mount USB chargers.

The real plus is they don't have a sliding on/off switch that can break - they jus use a push button sync/on switch that you press till it turns green.

I am not 100% sure, but perhaps Cleveland is not a Brick-N-Mortar company, therefore they are not listed as an authorized dealer? Cleveland Plasma is operated under Extreme Electronics LLC, which I assume is a partnership between Chris and a few others. Perhaps he purchases directly from Panasonic? Dunno all his trade details, but he has a A+ rating with the BBB - so I feel comfortable purchasing from him.

My local Best Buy price matched the p55vt50 listed with [URL=http://buytvtoday.com/Panasonic/PanasonicConsumer.aspx[/URL] for $1739. I live in Washington so I had to pay tax. AlltimeTVs looks like a legit website but I went with Best Buy because it seemed safer, they schedule the delivery and I wanted to sign up for their "rewardzone" and get a free calibration after I spend $2500.

Update: My apologies, the price match website I used was BuyTVToday not the one mentioned above. And, it's now down to $1625 for the P55vt50. I stopped by my local BestBuy and they adjusted the price. I was surprised they matched the price when it was $1729, more surprised when they honored their price guarantee for $1625. I'm not complaining, I'm trying to figure out what to buy next biggrin.gif

Not true, Panasonic is our number 1 seller. There list on line is never complete. There are probably about 100-200 dealers that should be on the list, especially wen custom installers are considered.

Not being on the list should be very bad for business. Many people simply stay away , worried about the potential lack of warranty.

Just got Best Buy in Houston to price match at $2799 (PlasmaTV4Less.com). smile.gif I actually had to go to 3 different Best Buys (all Magnolias) and the first 2 declined but I got it on the 3rd store. I took printouts of PlasmaTV4Less, AllTimeTvs, and BuyTVToday.

Not really, however we would rather be listed on Panasonic's web site getting the hits. Lets face it, we have been around for a long time. If we where running a bad business, included but not limited to, products not having a warranty I think it would be out there on AVS by now. Triple AAA rated with the BBB since we started with "0" complaints filed. Look at the different company names in this thread on BBB, there is a big difference. Not perfect in anyway over here as we are human, however in the end we actually do care about our clients and I think that is the main difference, clients are not a number.

I didn't mean to say anything different, it was just a comment about how important being in the list could be. There are people who search for a plasma online and don't know you or your company. If the don't see your name on the list, it can be a reason to look somewhere else. That's not an issue here, we all know you but not everybody is part of the AVS community.

I had forgotten about this site since I last was looking for a new AV receiver.

Thanks for all the info and links! I walked into BB this AM with buytvtoday and plasmatv4less prices. Kid asked if I needed any help, I said I am in the market for the 65" Panasonic in the other room and do they price match? His answer "Absolutely, show me what you have"

I gave him the buytvtoday and he went online. We have all seen their sketchy ordering process and he called the manager. Said they couldn't match that one. Then went plasmatv4less and immediately said it is legit. we will honor.

As I was checking out he asked where I found such a great price. I said AVS forums and he said he sold speakers on it before and had forgotten about it as well.

I tried to get a couple guys who have pickups and no one was available. Tried to rent the truck at home depot, and they don't rent it unless you need to haul something from HD. Tried Enterprise and they all closed at noon. So I am stuck waiting until Thu unless I get someone to help after work!

Thanks everyone for the information!

Oh, I get a free calibration as well!!

Received my 55VT50 from Chris @ Cleveland Plasma on Friday... SO glad I used Chris... fast, simple, A1 communication from order till delivery. As a small business local publishing company... I feel so satisfied when I can help out another small business. Hope Chris and everyone at his place have a Happy and Prosperous Holiday Season.

How can a consummer confirm a merchant's an authorized dealer? I found a good deal and the merchant says he's an authorized dealer but he's not on Panaconic's website. I sent Panny an email saking directly and got no answer.

As important is what does the BBB say about the merchant - what kind of reviews and complaints, or lack thereof does the merchant have.

Nothing came up on BBB. They (Davidson) have been open since 1976. When I walked in to get a price quote, they told me without prompting that they're an authorized dealer.
