Maybe I misread it then. What I remember reading is that it had to be a local dealer with stock in hand or one of very few online retailers listed. 15 day return is crappy for sure.

You mean, it actually has to be possible for someone to get that deal that a competitor is offering for Best Buy to match it? Criminal.

One of very few online retailers comprises of a list of 19 of the top US internet retailers and ,just a guess, they probably account for at least 3/4 of US online consumer electronic sales.

Not a fan of the 15 myself, but the rest of it is pretty reasonable, if you are honest with yourself.

Since you work there I understand your bias. I'd probably be the same way. 15 days for return is just not enough for me to ever buy anything more than a few bucks there from this point on. If everybody was only 15 days, then that would be a different story. You guys will now match places like Sams and Coscto as long as it's exactly the same model. "Sorry Sir-Costco has a Samsung 6001, That's not the same as the 6000 we carry" That one is laughable.biggrin.gif

I wish they still had the 55" at Amazon and lowered the price. Probably not likely they will even get any more in at this point.:mad:t.

i had no problem getting 55gt50 for $1249 price match. just do your homework, be smart buyer and be cordial.

what i DO miss is the days of negotiating without having a competitive price match...used to be able to just negotiate 10, 15, 20% off on sticker prices...

They actually had 1 in stock all of a sudden this morning at the list price. I emailed them about a price match, but it disappeared right away.

It is pretty irritating when they have what is essentially the same model with a different number. The TV manufacturers are the ones that create models for the "club" chains. There are actually very minor differences as well. Also, when you are talking about Magnolia, all models are nationally available. Most series in Best Buy are national models as well. So really, you need to look at who you are blaming here. Best Buy isn't the one making sure they have a "special" series, in most cases.

Wow, for a sec there I thought you meant that as 1599 plus the save 100! I was gonna say...1499 with them paying the sales tax would have had me seriously considering cancelling my pre-ordered 60ST60.

Still 1599 is a great price for that TV. And they told me they'd never go below 1699 when I asked several weeks ago...lol

I called Best Buy today and they would not price match the $1599 price. They said that Paul's was not an authorized dealer which is incorrect as they are. I might go by the store tomorrow to see if I can get better results in person. The same store price matched Paul's price at $1699 but maybe that is BB's low price limit.

I called Paul's today. It will take seven to ten days for them to process my refund. they said it was due to the amount of people taking advantage of the price drop.

Well I got better results by going to the BB store where I bought the 60GT50. I was armed with a Paul's TV printout of the 60GT50 at $1599 and proof that they are an authorized Panasonic dealer. The CSA that waited on me was great and after a managers approval I got the $100 discount. I would like to thank stansbrand for posting the $1599 price from Paul's TV smile.gif. I think the 60GT50 for $1599 is an excellent deal and I'm really glad I grabbed the GT50 instead of waiting for the ST60.

Amazon price matched Paul's TV $1599.99 for the 60GT50...plus a Amazon credit of 2% will be applied to my account in 31 days. 24 months no interest as well. It's being delivered next week and I hope I get a problem free unit.

Walk in at BB/Magnolia they now have the 50GT50 for $1,199.00 and that INCLUDES delivery AND in home calibration in 30 days. I checked two days ago and they had 200 in the warehouse...

But for $200 less it seems like everybody prefers the 50ST50.

I tried to get them to price match the $1599 and they wouldn't?

Keep trying, some customer service reps are less prone to price match than others. They should transfer you to the large item department, ask politely if they don't offer to transfer. The large item department will make the call on price match. I guess I got lucky because they matched on my 1st request. I called around 10:00 a.m. eastern time yesterday.

Make sure you have it in your cart and be ready to give them the web address for the correct Paul's tv price.

I just tried (again) this morning -- they seem to be getting a lot of calls about this, and were pretty emphatic they couldn't match the $1599 price because paulstv.com requires you to use a discount code to get that price. Kudos to those that got it -- you must be a smoother talker than me.

I just (ten minutes ago) had no problem getting them to price-match Paul's TV. Their TV price-matching does not mention excluding coupons. I'd try again. Make sure you speak to someone in the large items department about it.

With the 2013 models expected next month, would it be better to wait to see if the price drops anymore or do most of you feel that $1599 is the lowest the 60" GT50 is going to get?

Looks like Paul's TV is out of stock on the 60GT50. I am waiting on my order from Amazon to arrive, which I got at the $1699 price. Anyone know of a better price to beat that (since Paul's currently doesn't qualify)?

Paul's TV was selling that GT50 for $1,550 as a floor model last week. ...

If you are referring to the 60GT50 that really isn't such a great deal IMO. Paul's TV was selling brand new 60GT50s for $1599 till they ran out of stock.
