Folks,
I need some advice. Im having trouble determining what the difference between these 2 TV. When I checked the Panasonic site they only listed one difference "Infinite Black Ultima" vs "Infinite Black Pro". (and they dont seem to give any explanation on these features).
The other difference listed is "ISFccc" and 98 vs 48 Hz on 24P Cine Playback.

So.....considering the significant price difference, is it worth it for these few differences??

All input appreciated!

There are 2 main differences:

1. ISF CCC- Only matters if you plan on a professional calibration. Even then, it will depend on how picky you are if it will look any better than a calibrated GT50.

2. Screen Filter- The VT50 has a much better screen filter that will improve the picture during daytime/ lights on. To me, this is the biggest reason to opt for the VT50 over the GT50. Won't matter if you are putting it in a dark room though.

Why is the GT rated higher than the VT
Looking at several reviews and GT gets like
5 stars and VT 4.5, any reason?

Sorry to bump an old thread and please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but to your second point; after reading numerous posts by users who bought both the GT50 and VT50 and compared them, the consensus (at least from what I read) was that the VT had slightly better blacks at the cost of a slightly dimmer picture. So while the VT had better PQ overall, the GT actually performed better in bright(er) rooms.

Hello,
I went to Best Buy planning on purchasing the VT50, but after spending around an hour checking out the models, I just could not justify the added expense. They are simply too close in Picture Quality in my experience to justify the added expense. In addition, the GT50 looks quite similar to the VT50 whereas the ST50 looks more like a Samsung industrial design.
Cheers,

I agree with Audiodork....I just went in to a local BB Magnolia room yesterday. Better blacks with the VT50 vs the GT50. But, personally I would be extremely happy with the GT50. Outstanding picture quality from both. My question is, how would the 2011 VT30 compare to a 2012 GT50 model??????????
