BIGGEST bang for your buck would doubtless be another LG Plasma - you should easily find a 60" LG Panel in the sub-$1000 range, but do not know whether you will find "smart" features or 3D at that Price/Size combination.

Would guess that the vast majority of 2012 LG Plasma owners are very happy with their sets, even though Reviewers have given the nod to Panasonic and/or Samsung plasmas as having the best overall PQ of 2012 models.

Amazon's web site usually does a good job at showing the Feature Set of various models (from the same manufacturer), or take a peek at the home pages of the manufacturers themselves.

There are a number of review sites - CNet and Consumer Reports (not free) are good starting points. (The CR web site provides much more Detail about the tested sets than their magazine does.)

Happy Hunting....

If you have a newer bluray player with built-in apps and stuff, I wouldn't worry about that feature on your tv. I have a Samsung pn58c7000 and the 3d player (550 I think) that came with it. Thought I might use the smart stuff on the tv but never do since I stream movies with Vudu on the player.

I'm with ambesolman that it isn't worth paying more for something like the E8000, which just adds more features without any PQ improvement. You could buy a lower model and save money. FWIW, the 50ST50 can be had for $1,000 or less (and so can the 55UT50). It was $900 +tax through EPP, if it's still available (the 55" ST50 was $1,025 but sold out, last I checked). I would choose the ST50 myself, but if you prefer Samsung, then you should consider the E7000. Personally, there is no way that I wold buy the 55LM6700.

Yes, AFAIK, that's as good as it gets right now for that TV (online). Again, I personally would rather buy the 50ST50 for the same price, but if you want a Samsung, then that's a good price.

Yeah I'm ordering the PN51e7000 for 2nd TV (i have PN58C7000 in the main living room and love the PQ).
I was getting this at Sears which *might still have a $200 Sears Gift Card. Plus using Sears card gives extra 5% off which should be nice price.

That is a very good price for this model, which has been priced several hundred dollars higher most of this year. It is a top tier model for Samsung plasma, and almost identical spec wise to to the E8000, minus a few bells and whistles such as built in camera. Best Buy also has the $999 price, and last week was still offering a $200 store gift card. Samsung or Panasonic would be the best choices for plasma in the upper end models, although LG can be a decent bang for the buck in the entry level 1080p category. But I would still choose Samsung or Panasonic for best overall pic quality.
