Seriously! If someone pulled off a PM at that price, congrats. It appears this is an open box/display model price, as the only two locations that show any stock list it in those conditions.

Just picked up a 65" ST60 from Amazon. Originally ordered the 60" last night to get the price match $1339 (great deal), but got buyer's remorse this morning about size. I saw the PaulsTV deal of $1899 for the 65" and got Amazon to price match.

PaulsTV has the 65" with free delivery for $1899.99 with coupon code PAULS22. The fall15 and fall25 codes would not work for me this morning for some reason.

It was Amazon that did the price match for me. I went on live chat with someone. They had to forward my request to another department. Then about a hour later I got an approval email letting me know I had 48 hours to make my purchase.

Plus i got to use their 24 months no interest payment.

I just tried to see if they'd do a match at that price, and they refused, on the basis of it not being available in any stores near me, and being OOS online. Considering this appears to have never been in stock for shipping, consider yourself very lucky.

I think it may have to do with your zip and where those two sets are located....maybe. It doesn't hurt to try. I started a chat and they agreed to PM @ $997 for the set I bought last night. I gave them a link to the Fry's ad, mentioned that I noticed it today after ordering last night, and in a matter of minutes the PM was approved for me. Thanks MaxxFusion for the heads up!

Then, would you mind sharing what state you're located in? The only two locations who show it in stock are Duluth, GA and Las Vegas, NV but both clearly note them as display model or open box.

Pauls price is 1899 out the door right? Did Amazon pm out the door price? Or did you have to pay tax on top?

I'm in CO but have mailing addresses in CA and AZ on my account. In the end, IDK. I very well may have just gotten the luck of the draw with the rep I got. I hope others are able to take advantage of this as well.

Amazon matched 1899. Not sure of the tax implications as I am in Louisiana where Amazon does not collect.

Just an FYI for deal shoppers, Best Buy seems to be extra willing to haggle on open box ST60's. Just picked up an open box TC-P50ST60 for $750. If you're willing to take some time, you can shop their open box deals by store on bestbuy.com and then haggle with supervisors/managers.

I think you indeed got lucky. I see no CA, CO or AZ locations with stock. It's not available to ship either. I did try a 2nd time and was again denied. I think you just got a rep who didn't follow their criteria and was quick to pull the trigger on approving it. Enjoy it!

I just missed out on getting the 60ST60. Where do you get the codes from Paul's?

They dont offer shipping but i was able to get a price match.

Crazy price, but really this is not going to be helpful to a lot of people (nothing available in my 2000 mile radius) BTW I would SERIOUSLY recommend against buying a used/store display plasma I have seen many that have had image burn in

I saw the fall15 code on this thread making the 60st60 $1339.99. It worked last night, so I ordered on Amazon then based on that. This morning that code was not working and I realized I wanted the 65" so I searched retailmenot and found the pauls22 code which I think is good for the 65" until 11/22.

It appears gizmodo is onto us:

They listed all of the PaulsTv codes in a deals blurb.

I tried today to get Amazon to price match the 60 ST60 @ Frys.com for the $997 but they wouldn't because there was no frys near me. So I called my brother with a Frys in Atlanta and a 60ST60 in stock, and he got amazon to price match the Frys price at $997 with free shipping to his place in Atlanta, so hes gonna drive it up to me on Thanksgiving when he comes to visit. What a steal.

Duluth, GA had one in stock earlier, and it was an open box. It has since sold, as they show unavailable. Congrats on getting them to approve it.

In regards to the Panasonic TC-P60ST60

After talking with a rep at Panasonic and getting EPP price for $1274, I went another step further to see if anyone would match the price of Frys.com of $997.

http://www.frys.com/product/7611357?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

I contacted Amazon via chat and they replied very quickly with this response:

Hello,
Your pre-order TV Low Price Guarantee request for the "Panasonic TC-P60ST60 60" Class (60.1" Actual Diagonal Size) 1080p Smart Plasma TV" against Fry's.com has been approved. If you place your order within the next 48 hours, you will qualify for a price match refund.

This is terrific news. After watching this forum for the past month and waiting for the prices to go down, in addition to a scare of news from Panasonic in shutting down its production of Plasma TV’s. I can now say the wait was definitely worth it. I will finally be making my purchase today! Thanks to all those individuals that have shared their information with all of us waiting for a great deal.

I was just able to get the Fry's price matched at Amazon as well....fantastic deal! I have a Fry's about an hour away from me, but it showed out of stock at my store, so either the Amazon rep didn't look too hard or she didn't care. Thanks for the heads up!!!

I too got Amazon to price match Fry's price of $997 for the TC-P60ST60. yes, I live in southern California where there are several Fry's locations, but none of them have the TV in stock. closest one was in Las Vegas which stated it might be a display model.

so I was obviously pleased as punch that Amazon agreed. I very much wanted to spring for a VT or ZT, but I just could not justify paying 2-3x as much. I saw the 55" Samsung OLED TV at Paul's and was so impressed that I didn't want to break the bank on this plasma set. OLED certainly looks like the future.

upgrading from my 2006 40" Sony XBR2 LCD, which the ST should be more than adequate in replacing as far as picture quality is concerned.

thank you to all the AVS forum members for sharing your experiences & your guidance. this is such an amazing community of people!

I just ordered from Amazon as well and they were able to price match the Fry's price of $997 via online chat. I have one about 10 miles from my house. Was planning on getting the 55", but this is wayyy too good of a deal to pass up. Thanks all for the info!

Argh! Caught by the 50 miles from your zip code and in stock clause! Why won't Frys come to Wisconsin?

Anyone willing to place and order for me? smile.gif

I have a 60ST30 which I've mostly enjoyed, although it's not perfect. With the retirement of Panasonic Plasma production, I am looking at upgrading so I have the most current and best set for the years to come while we wait for the future OLED etc TV's to drop in prices.

Two questions as of today:

1) What is the latest for best pricing up here in Canada for the ST60 line? I am looking at the 60 or possibly (not likely) the 65" . Best Buy and Future Shop posts the lowest prices I've seen so far. Has anybody found better?

2) Does anybody have a strategy? A plan to try and acquire a TV at the best price by either waiting, or by haggling sooner than later? (considering the xx60 Panasonic Plasma's are the last of the last)?

I've been looking for a few months and haven't seen anything cheaper than Best Buy or Futureshop, and even they seem to be out of stock on the 65". Ugh. Someone earlier in the thread mentioned Visions, but that doesn't do you much good if you're not out west. We might just have to be happy with our free healthcare and give up on getting a good deal on electronics north of the border wink.gif
