Yes, they will sell you a Squaretrade warranty as long as it was purchased from an authorized U.S. retailer, up to 60 days after purchase.

For people who PMed at Amazon, they match after the fact, so your invoice lists the original price. I'm just not sure it's a good idea to purchase coverage for the after PM price, as you couldn't replace the model with an equivalent for that same price (the Fry's PM was not a price we'll likely see again).

I see, not sure what the best route in that case would be. What was Fry's price and on what model and size? I imagine I wouldn't have been able to get it anyhow since there's no Fry's in the area.

That is quite a deal considering that's what the 50" goes for. Did you have to have a Fry's in your area? I see your Buckeyes avatar, I'm in Cleveland, but we don't have them up here.

I guess I should have continued to check the deal threads more vigilantly, this would have been great for me, just so hard to keep up. Maybe they'll have it again for Superbowl sales or something.

No. I am in the cleveland area as well. I started looking for a tv. Did a google search and found the frys price online. I asked amazon to price match so i could also take advantage of their 24 months same as cash. They did do the pm and i posted this deal here.

Based on the availability of most of the 2013 ST series already, if you have to have one, I personally would not wait that long. It will certainly depend on model, but the 60ST60 is already getting difficult to find. Just fyi.

Damn, now I'm really bummed, I would have jumped on that for sure. I had checked this thread for awhile, but there hadn't been too much action, so stopped. Oh well, glad you got the deal and others too! I'd be ok with the S64 and saving the money, but the motion is really poor. Hoping the motion on the ST, besides just 24p handling is better.

Yeah, that's probably going to be an issue as well. I'm just not seeing too many deals though. Really sucks that Panasonic is getting out of the game.

Thanks for your help guys and Merry Christmas!

Yea, I see that the zt is listed as discontinued on B&H. If you add to your cart and put 500 in, it will show how many they have left on Amazon.

I remember really good deals on on the Pioneer KRP plasma http://archive.slickdeals.net/f/1502365-10-29-update-pioneer-kuro-krp500-50in-plasma-hdtv-same-quality-as-elite-1539fs-w-wall-mount?

But they were at a different price point, and was still a good amount for the size.

Fry's is apparently clearing out their floor models, at least in their Downers Grove, IL store:

$1499 for a 65" ST60.

So unless it's really bad and noticeable under normal viewing, for a 1000 bucks I could live with it on the rare occasions you have a white screen.  But that's just me...

How many hours are on it and where did you find it?
Checked the hours today. 2371

I never saw any today in stock at amazon (directly anyway) to even try to price match... The houston store is annoying as it keeps showing they have one in stock, but when I call or place the order, they don't...

They had 2 in stock when I started the process earlier, I had the same problem with frys went into the store and showed them the TV and they had no idea what I was talking about.

Sears has the TC-P55ST60 for $1350 new, and I was able to hassle them into 12% off (total $1188) after they ****ed up an online order I tried to place.

Debating though if I should get the P65ST60 demo unit thats at my local Frys.... ugh. decisions.

They had one in stock at my local Sears. I snapped it up at the $150 discount. Ive always been on the teeter totter about getting one. Ive got a Sharp Aquos 60" LCD (not LED) now, and while the picture is good, its not outstanding, doesnt have any apps, isnt 3D, and is actually about two inches to big to fit correctly on my wall without overhanging the door molding on the side. I think a 55" would be a better fit for my small living room, and since this looks to be about the last chance to get the best in plasma, I just went ahead and bought it. Have to pick it up tomorrow. Hope the bolt pattern on the back is the same as my current wall mount. Could not find that in the specs.

Interestingly, the one thing I was concerned with, power usage, shows to be about 1/2 the annual amount as my 60".

Kinda psyched about it.

If you happen to be in the Las Vegas area, the local Fry's has an open-box 60" ST60 for the absurd price of $699:

http://www.frys.com/product/7611357?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Check it out if you live near there (or try your luck price-matching a hapless Best Buy/Sears employee?)

Open-box plasma has to be a dicey proposition, but at that price...

I did exactly that 2days ago... Saw the frys deal for $1499 P65ST60, realized that it was for open box clearance, called bb and the customer service representative went for it... down from $2399. My daughters birth and that, two proudest moments of my life.

Did you call the specific BB store's customer service?

I'm hoping to do the same thing with the 60ST60. BB is the only retailer that has any around me, but I'd love to get it for the fry's price.

No, I called the national toll free number. The only floor model 60st60 fry's has left is in Las Vegas. If it is close enough to your zip code to reasonably buy it in store, and you get the right BB customer service representative you're in business...

I have to say if you're watching this thread but remain on the fence because of input lag or image retention, I implore you to jump off immediately and grab that deal!

I'm a gamer so both issues had concerned me, but I threw caution to the wind on a 65" ST60 after prices dipped ludicrously low on such a fine specimen. And after hours on end of Madden, Forza, & Dead Rising (which all look freaking glorious on the ST60), I'm ecstatic to say I haven't witnessed the slightest bit of lag or IR.

I don't even bother to put gaming mode on anymore. And I'm coming from a good 'ole Mitsu DLP which has ZERO measurable input lag. Granted I haven't played a fast-twitch game yet and my reflexes aren't what they used to be, but all I know is those cars in Forza are dead-on responsive to my controller inputs, so I'm a happy camper. And did I mention how gorgeous the cars are on the ST60?

I should also add that I did run the DNice slides for 400 hours (TV was a family Christmas gift so I had a LOT of time to kill). Though the slides aren't specifically designed to prevent IR, I imagine this prep helps (pixels burn extra bright in those 1st few hundred hours).

Not really... try selecting a store for in store pick up or even delivery. An error will pop up.

BB's website is interesting.  I had the same issue, but just kept checking early every morning (5am ish) and I finally got lucky and a 60ST60 showed up at a Chicago warehouse location.  I didn't know that they showed warehouses online, but that's how it was listed.   I instantly popped on it online, grabbed a pickup truck and made the 2 hour drive. During the checkout process the pickup location was changed from the warehouse to the Bollingbrook store, but that was OK with me.  I can't guarantee you the same luck, but it worked for me.  This was also a couple weeks ago, when inventory was a bit more available.

Just called a local store here in VA and the salesman said they are having the same problem in the stores we are. He did say there are none of the 60 or 65" ST's or VT's left at any or the stores around here.
